RIP Gilly

Wont be known to a lot of Blades but I want to pay respect to my mate Alan Gilly Gillespie who passed away yesterday after a long battle with heart disease at the age of 61.

He was one of us Rawmarsh Blades, and still went as much as he could, after being a regular for decades, he loved an away day!!, we went to Everton this season, all the lads in a mini bus.
I believe his last game was the 3-3 with Man Utd, the excitement nearly finishing him there and then!!

So he made the decision to not go again, but still watched on TV, as his health deteriorated.

Heartbroken we wont ever talk Blades again over a pint in the Jockey mate.

That's right, we had a memorable night in Torquay in the 4th division, mini bus broke down, stopped round Torquay, lots of ale flowed, police may have been involved!, got home Sunday tea time.

Travelled with the Parkgate branch of the SC for a couple of seasons many moons ago.if it's the Gilly i'm thinking of.Mad times those.

RIP Blade,remember his name,went on Jimmy lynskeys coach to a few away games back in day,Bolton via Sunday night in Blackpool, Brighton weekend starting off with a Friday night in oxford,good times,still see Tiger at match.

Sorry to here about that, remember him well, we lost some other blades from dairy since it shut, do you remember egg arse, never knew his name but was only ever called egg arse, heard we lost him. Anyway condolenses
