I remember him from the early 90s when I used to drink in the Hare and the Dev. A real character. RIP.

Sorry to hear that. Condolences to his family, his friends and those on here who knew him.

There was a bloke who looks just like him called Billy who had a season ticket at Mallorca who used to drink round Oughtibridge at one point over the last few years. Sure its him (big coincidence if its not). Was a really nice bloke. RIP.

RIP. Recognise him from Dore area. Didn't know him but seemed a jovial sort.

Sad so sad. Nice guy taken from us too early. Great footballer and wonderful tennis player with a whipping forehand.
Always used to wear shorts even on the coldest days in winter.
RIP Big man.

Looks familiar to me.. Sure he played football for Cricket Inn (Totley) many moons ago and probably was only about 52/53?

Blimey. Name didnt mean anything but now I've seen picture remember him well.

Sad news. RIP mate.

Couldn't have been any age?

Sorry to hear this, knew Billy from The Dev and went on a few of his Mallorca trips. Great bloke, very sad news.

Top guy was Bill, was a Dore regular for most of 80’s & 90’s.

Last saw him in Wetherspoons on Eccy Rd after Tramlines, always chirpy, chatty and positive.

RIP mate.

Billy did 100 consecutive Mallorca home games and this is his 100th when local tv crew met him at the airport and followed his day plenty of beer (not called billy beer for nowt) once a blade always a blade
RIP billy
We will continue telling the great stories about you

Rip Billy, top man, very funny and lovely bloke, it could have been minus 10 outside and a foot of snow outside, the main door of the Dev would open, Billy would walk in dressed in either a blades shirt or Mallorca shirt..but wearing chuffing shorts...
We will miss you Billy, god bless you for the great stories and your humour.
😔😔
