They'll be staying overnight in a hotel presumably.

It's all very exciting working out what their travel plans are.

They’re heading there by bus tomorrow afternoon, no overnight stay. From Richard Sutcliffe today:

“Villa Park is one of those venues felt to be close enough to get there and back without the need to book into a hotel, along with Old Trafford, Turf Moor and the King Power Stadium. It means only the final-day trip to Southampton on July 26 and Sunday’s clash at Newcastle United will involve an overnight stay.”

Well the controversy will rage on...

Its the new normal and applies to everyone returning to work. Football along with other sports have had their Covid secure guidelines provided and this is what they will have to do for the forseeable future. Many moaned it couldn't be done but we have football up and running and the new conditions are not too much to endure in the current climate IMO.

Does it disrupt the players? We won't know until the games start. Certainly having to travel on the day of the game for an away team can be an issue especially over three coaches. Weeds had to obtain special permission from the Welsh Government for their forthcoming games in Cardiff and Swansea where they have been put up in a key workers hotel. Not sure if we've been able to get a similar dispensation for our immediate away games but the normality of staying overnight will help.

At the ground they will face having to go through a sterile area into the red zone where only 110 people in total are allowed. Changing and team talks are bound to be affected as are the limits on physio involvement pre and post match which could impact our injury record.

We are being optimistic if we think we will carry on where we left off. It has been a long lay off and its like starting a new season so form is no guide. With the added lack of fans this will be a unique experience for everyone in football. Hopefully our team spirit and desire will carry us through the first few games.

Meantime the television companies continue to do their best to turn football into socker. Look out for the celebration camera when goals are scored FFS.

Very similar to what they do clocking in to Asda warehouse then. ;)

Whats the idea of the 1/4 time drink rule?

You think they've fiddled 'death' and 'in hospital with infection' figures?
The only figure that can be massaged is the 'R' number - but it doesn't seem that anyone is taking any notice of that.
I don't think they've 'fiddled' death numbers, I do believe that they've attributed deaths from cancer and heart attacks to covid though, just because 'it was present'.

'Deaths linked to covid' is the key phrase. Covid seems to accelerate an underlying condition.

Even if that's true, how do you explain the 'excess deaths'?

Don't get me started on how bullshit this all is. Travelling on separate buses, changing in every room of the stadium before grappling at corners and set-pieces...

And don't tell me you have to be in the presence of someone for a sustained period of time to catch it as that is crap n all.

Plymouthblade knows what I'm on about

👀

You're more likely to spend time close to other people in a room somewhere than on the pitch.
What's wrong with being cautious when and where you can?
It hasn't gone away you know.
Not only does it kill people of most ages, it also can wreck your lungs for years afterwards to say nothing of the other issues it causes, blood clots etc.

Where abouts is that, it doesn't look like it is close proximity to either Shirecliffe or Bramall Lane

The drivers are staying at The Kenwood Hotel, which at the moment is home to key workers. According to one of the drivers, they couldn't get all three coaches in the car park so are going to park them at the Lane in readyness for tomorrow.

I don't get this bit. If you need to be in close proximity for 15minutes, why the need to socially distance in supermarkets etc. You don't follow a stranger closely for that long, 15seconds maybe 🤷🏻‍♂️
Its madness half the rules contradict each other

Oh look, figures inaccurate. Would you believe it?!

If someone had recovered from covid but later died, covid was given as a cause of death.

Like I said.

I can't be arsed at the minute to scroll through to find my 'hit by a bus' analogy, but I know I said it. And I was right.

I'm struggling to understand why any government, never mind this set of incompetent shit gibbons, would publish death figures that make them look shitter than they actually are?

If anything, you'd expect it to be the exact opposite and people who died of Covid to be reported as crushed under steamrollers.

Scaremongering. They're making covid clearly sound more lethal than it probably has been. People dying from cancer and heart attacks have been put down as covid (and I have mentioned before the 30st guy who had a heart attack but covid was present - covid death). There are numerous examples of people having covid as cause of death when it isn't. Just because you have covid, it doesn't mean it killed you.

Basically, wear a mask, do as you're told. That's the agenda behind it.

The clue is in the question.
