From the Star.........

BRYAN Robson has added Derby County's David Jones and Portsmouth's Richard Hughes to his list of possible transfer window targets.

The Sheffield United manager, whose side secured a creditable draw at Wolves yesterday, completed the first phase of his midfield makeover when he signed Gary Speed on loan from Bolton Wanderers.

But having received a vote of confidence from plc chairman Kevin McCabe on the eve of the trip to Molineux, Robson is determined to press ahead with a process he believes has the power to transform United's season.

The Star understands that McCabe and his board of directors have already been presented with a dossier of names the former England captain believes are capable of aiding his campaign to combine fluent, passing football with positive results.

Not heard much from Hughes for a few years so can't comment.

Hasn't he been stuck in Portsmouth's reserves for a few seasons now, i always thought he was a decent player, i'd love to see a midfield of Hoolahan, Speed, Hughes, Routledge/Eagles and who knows we could yet get in the play-offs with a few wise buys.

Hughes played in Pompeys draw with Arsenal last week - Got a lot of praise for his off the ball work (player tracking, man marking etc.)

Isnt he a sort of Monty with more tactical ability

Personally cant see him moving with Harry losing a few players to the African Cup - Hes going to want to keep as many as possible
