I wasn't taken by the cresswell signing but thought he was one of the better players today.

Showed more attitude and passion than a lot of others, which when you consider that he is tainted, says a lot. He also did show a cheer to the Kop as well.

I hope that's not his only productive moment for us.

cresswell was superb 1st half, bagged our goal second. if he hadnt have played for the pigs we'd be raving about his performance. theres a reason we hated him more n more every time we played him, cause he's a quality player. glad hes finally on our side.

I think it's more that we know he's a pig fan.

Someone claiming to know Cresswell came on P&G saying he was a die hard Liverpool fan. Make of that what you want.
Decent performance today, and any "pig" who can put a Blades shirt on will be ok in my book. I would NOT , EVER, even for a million quid, wear a pig shirt.

I couldn't believe my ears when I heard booes when he saluted the Kop after he scored! Now I know some people (my Dad included) who boo pretty much every time we go into HT losing, but none of them would dream of booing a player for his past affliations, or booing after he scored!

Also I think we can see that Cresswell is four times the player Evans is...

Cresswell is also a lot older than Evans (Cresswell 32 & Evans 20ish) so he has had a lot of experience and learnt a lot during his career where as Evans has a lot to learn, which i'm sure he will.

people keep saying well Evans cost £3million but thats not really much for a striker in either of the top 2 divisions.
If any of our rivals were to lose a striker it would cost them about that to replace them with a like for like player.

I have patience for Evans, he plays some good neat football and shows glimpses of what the future brings. He will sore goals for us that i'm sure of.

Yeah I know, I wasn't being entirely serious, it's just that Cresswell contributed more than Evans and got a far harder time from the fans. Obviously we haven't seen the best of evans yet (or I hope to God we haven't!)

Agree with you and Guesty here, lot of potential in the lad.

And people harping on about he's crap remember when Chelsa brought Drogba in his first season was pretty poor. NO i'm not comparing ched to Drogba, but people write guys off too quick. I think once Evans starts putting in games and starts feeding off of Hendo and getting closer to him like Blackwell is clearly telling him he'll do fine.

Really Guesty I couldn't here booing where I was on the kop thats poor, mind you I was too busy getting on with celebrating his goal, so i was paying attention to what was going off. GET IN Cresswell keep it up.

Me too, me too.

a guy sitting near me at the end was moaning about Evans and Relish.
especially Relish saying he could hit a barn door with the proverbial banjo, to which I pointed out the two goals he scored against Ipswich.
People are giving or forward line a hard time even though they are scoring and creating goals and goalscoring chances evey game.
Seems as if they expect us to score 5 every time we play

Cresswell to his credit just got on woth playing ad seemed to ignore any boo's aimed at him.
I hope they all shut the boo'ers up and keep producing goals.

i think i would for a million, safe in the knowledge that I'm terrible and just may be even worse than Buxton, I'm starting to think he's a blade ;-)

I don't mean play for them....I mean I would never, ever wear one......or indeed make love to a woman wearing one. One of my ex's did this for a laugh, and she got nowt that night!!

That'd be worse than some of the stuff Keenzy posts in the pig & truffle section!!!

I think we (blades fans) should cut the players a bit of slack now and concentrate on supporting the team as much as possible through what is turning out to be an unexpected difficult period.

Most of what we see that irritates us is not down to the players themselves but the system (is there one?) they are being asked to play. I listened to Sir Keith Edwards before the game on saturday and he said that Blades need to mix up the play more, keep posession more and play less hoofball. We did so against Donny, looked better for it and were unlucky to only draw.

Unfortunately, we are going to suffer until at least January, because we failed to put in place a balanced squad with some depth of cover for the first eleven during the summer. Poor planning for a side expected to be pushing for a top 6 finish.

Come on Blades, it could be worse, we might still have Robson in charge .................. zzzzzzzz!!

SPOT ON! Time to get behind them, and hope they respond.

Thought i'd bump this thread.

Read today that Cresswell thinks he cracked his ribs in the first half.

If this is right then his determination to put the ball in the back of the net shows further that he's the sort of player we need for the battle.

Perhaps anyone questioning his commitment to the Blades even though he's a pig fan that's reportedly turned us down a couple of times in the past will see that although he's a pig, he's a professional and willing to getr hurt.

There is a thought that because he's a pig, then perhaps he appreciates what Sheffield United fans expect. I'll guess that he'll also be working as hard as anyone to shut the Boo boys up.

Top Lad, hope he gets back in a red and white shirt as soon as possible

A true blade would play the next game with broken ribs ;)
