I've written off Evans because I've never seen a professional footballer signed for £1.5m to £3m put so little effort in.
I'd be ashamed to be putting the performances and effort in that he is.
I didn't boo Cresswell though I can see why some did and it isn't just personal, it's more a comment about where the club is going with signings like that.
We didn't dislike Ward, the reason being that he's got stuck in every single game I've seen him play and that, allied to ability, is what we should expect, week in, week out.

not heard one person yet who actually thinks this signing is or will be worthwhile. too old, too slow and shite. in fact he's just the sort of striker we seem to love at bdtbl.
the main thing that baffles me is when blackwell stands there and says he wont just sign anybody for the sake of it. if he signs someone it will be because they will add quality.
HOW THE F*** DOES CRESSWELL ADD QUALITY? this signing shows all the signs of a panic buy which is exactly what blackwell said he wouldnt do.

Am I missing the point. We can't sign Cresswell (or anyone at another club) until January, we can only take them on loan. So why now do we committ to buying him when surely we can see how it works out for us (and him) over the next three months and then offer a contract if it all goes well. This is exactly what happened with Howard last season and it was clear to most of us he wasn't what we were looking for before the end of his loan period, but once again we were already committed to buying him. It all smacks of panic buying but I would be interested to know who we were up against in trying to secure Cresswell which made us offer such good terms

Cresswell is certainly not acceptable, espcially, given the Blackwell rhetoric of Quality over Quantity.

It would have been slightly easier to swallow if he was only here on loan, but to have a 2 yr deal in the bag come January, totally undermines everything that the club has been saying.

Does anyone think that Creswell is quality??

Personally I think he's a complete bag of shite, as others have said old, slow and useless. But then those were my exact words when we signed Shipperley!

Maybe the saying should have been Quality OVER Quantity in which case the Cresswell signing kind of maybe sort of isn't as bad! We're certainly not rolling in "Quantity" at the moment so I guess the quality of Cresswell is better than the quality of no-one!

I'm going to go against the grain here and say I don't think he's a bad signing. He's always put in decent performances against us and puts himself about. Whether he's turned us down in the past, he's her now and I've no doubt he'll do his best for our cause.

I was one who applauded after the initial booing because he's come to us from a Premiership bench, knowing full well he's not going to be first choice and still put the effort in when he came on. If used sparingly, I don't think it's a bad signing.

Plus he showed some pace as he was one of the first over to Morgs celebrating our goal!

I agree that most Owls have come over and done a good job, but they have to prove themselves more than others normally.

Cresswell is going to have to do something pretty spectacular to win over the faithful.
