If he does sign in time for the Arse game, I expect him to start on the bench, and get a run out in the second half. He is needed, but has no experience of the game at this level, and has not played much football at all before this game.

Wilder often speaks about the importance of getting the first goal at this level. I'd be very surprised if he doesn't put him in the starting eleven in his first game. I didn't think he'd put Berge in the starting eleven in his first game, but he did. I think, given our "goal-shy" start to this season (following on from our goal-shy previous season) it would be nailed on he'd be in the starting eleven, assuming he's not injured - and assuming he signs of course.

Right, listen up. Is everyone packed and ready for the big move over to General Blades Chat? We can't be waiting for any stragglers. If you're not ready when it goes green, you'll be left here in the Sturridge thread. Just saying. Carry on.
I've had my little suitcase packed and my box of sandwiches and a Club biscuit ready for the past week :(

I'm going to really miss it here. It just won't feel the same when we do finally move but I will certainly remember it fondly. I made some good friends and some great memories here. I joined this thread a naive boy but I'm leaving a man. Looking forward to seeing you all at the reunion. Ah shoot, I promised myself I wouldn't cry...

Have I missed something, or is all the excitement about it being a done deal, based on a Facebook post by Gary Sinclair; which could mean anything?
Where is said link please oh wise one ? 😃

Aye ,
But you're not as ' goody 2 boots' as you're making out, are you ?
There was also a penguin ( albeit a smaller multi pack version) & a bag of cheesy wotsits in your snap tin , wasn't there ?

What about £33m for Watkins and £16m for Cash? Now that's two signings that strike you as overpriced.

We've got Bogle, Lowe and potentially Brewster for less than Watkins ;)
The amount of Premier League clubs that have shown interest in Brewster are an indication to what is expected of him. Together with his form at Swansea, and Liverpools insistence on a clause - just tells you of the players calibre.

How many clubs were in for Watkins and Cash, two?

Look at our team of the future if they all progress as much as they could. All these players are 24 or under:

Ramsdale (22)
X - X - X
Bogle (20) - Slater (21) - Berge (22) - X - Lowe (23)
Burke (23) - Brewster (20)

Subs: McBurnie (24), Mousset (24), Brunt (18), Hackford (16)
Then you have Egan (27) and JOC (26).

A measly Tier 2 update. Suggests the transfer may go all the way to Monday before being confirmed, puts the fee at £20m including add-ons.

I'm gonna stay behind and look after the place till next time, I don't like change anyway.

Aye,
You can then be 1st on the ' we were robbed / stupid / embarrassing / tin pot / lacking ambition / Brewster- flu / we should never have flogged /:-Birchinalljonessalmonscurriehamson(?)sabelladeaneaganafjortoftdeanebeattiewalkernaughtonmacdonaldmaguirecalvertlewinbrooksfreeman brigade * when they implement the 'woefully inadequate' (pants down) buyback

* feel free to add your own 'favourite' heartbreaking / piss boiling sale as I realise there will be omissions (eg penalty taker we flogged to Blackburn for £1 million)

Yep. I’m a big fan of the focus on recruiting younger players with big potential and resale value. Our squad needed it.

And you still haven't mentioned RND, Cappello, Kyron Gordon (going to be mega), Ndiaye or little Leo Gaxha.

Obviously football dictates that most of them won't "make it huge" but for all this talk about selling DCL/Walker/Maguire etc, there's still some serious talent up at Shirecliffe.

BREAKING NEWS ....... from the BBC

Liverpool are set to accept a £23m offer from Sheffield United for 20-year-old England Under-21 forward Rhian Brewster.

Are we in for this guy? Any good?

Never heard of him.

The lad Coulibaly who’s at Beerschot too. He’s still a teenager. Highly rated by all accounts.
