So just for some context around this potential move and not for one minute wanting to be negative, just fact finding and trying to understand the current news that the Blades have submitted a bid for Brewster that is in the region of 20m (alleged)

Brewster half a season in championship and a dozen goals or so - 20m

Watkin prolific in the championship for a few seasons 20 something goals - 28m and there was such an out cry of way too much money.

Again not saying we shouldn’t sign Brewster but just trying to get my head around the value.

Watkins had 1 outstanding season last season and is 24

brewster scored 1 in 2 in the second half of last season and is 20 (is also a champions league winner)

I think the value for both is way too rich but 28 mill rising to 33 mill for Watkins seems a worse deal in my eyes

Watkins played on the 'wing' and only scored ten in those seasons not 20 last year was his first one and is 4 years older. Touching 30 million is crazy when the most expensive English striker was 35 million!

Ollie Watkins was prolific for 1 season, is 4 years older than Brewster, has played all his career at EFL level.

Brewester scored at an excellent rate in half a season in the EFL, 20 years old, represented England at all age levels (below senior), came through Chelsea and Liverpool academy.

Im not using these to try and justify or refute either valuations, just point out some differences between the two.

Good point on age but at 24 its not as if he's 28/29 and in the autumn of his career.

Also the 20m reported for Brewster will be rising to something daft as I cant for one minute think it will be a fixed fee.

Champion's League winner, yeah righto! 🤣

At least when John Terry did his full kit wanker thing he'd actually contributed to Chelsea winning it.

Don't try, the PL simply doesn't work like that.

If he signs he’s a champions league winner. If he doesn’t he’s a nobody. You know how it works

The only way truly to assess any deal is a year or more later. Watkins feels too expensive but if he bags 20 goals and fires Villa into the top six then clearly it was good business. If on the other hand he has a season like Che Adams where he struggles to adapt then less good. Any transfer is a risk (Ebrell anyone??) and that risk increases as the price gets higher. What we will do I’m sure is insulate ourselves as far as possible from massive negatives of Brewster not being the success we hope. Sometimes you have to roll the dice though

Indykalia works in KFC (that’s actually true) but it is weird that he gets stuff right
He does that by posting several possible outcomes of the same story and then retweeting the one he gets right. It's a parody.
