That’s taking things a bit far, but you have to admit that for your average young footballer, Sheffield is less of a pull than other big cities like London, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool and Leeds. Obviously that doesn’t mean that we absolutely can’t bring players in, but it does put us at something of a disadvantage when it comes to attracting them.

I totally agree. The cities you've mentioned have left Sheffield behind over the last 10 years or so. Just walking through the city centres this is evident. We've attempted to catch up a bit over the last few years but Sheffield isn't that desirable.
We don't have the posh shops - Selfridges, Harvey Nichols etc. We don't have the swanky bars and restaurants like they do.

Town looks like an absolute dump at the moment, as well and imagine if your first glimpse of Sheffield is London Road...

London Road is slowly improving with a number of restaurants and pavement cafes opening up. The recent shootings have tarnished it a bit but it is slowly cleaning itself up with most of the street supermarkets disappearing.

“The recent shootings have tarnished it a bit”

absolute quality understated comment

Hardly surprising when you have a council that can't even get the basics of traffic management correct.

His first glimpse of Liverpool may well have been the streets around Anfield or more likely some shithole in the way up to it. Liverpool's centre is now ok, but some of the fringe areas around the centre are horrendous.

By this logic, the likes of Wolves, Boro, Burnley, to name but a few would never sign a player.

We won't lowball the Brewster bid.
Like with Berge we know other teams are circling.
I'm not saying it'll be enough but we will probably meet thir asking price first time.

The problem starts when another two clubs meet it the day after.

Indykalia works in KFC (that’s actually true) but it is weird that he gets stuff right

but could they turn it down as they might actually want Brewster at utd for his development, especially so with a buy back clause involved

This all comes down to what Liverpool want.

If they saw him as an immense prospect that will break into the first 11 in a year then he wouldn't be leaving, at all.
If they thought he still has a part to play in their squad then he'd probably be loaned out again so he could be assessed again but this time in the Premiership.

If they dont think he's ready, want some decent money fast, but fancy he might become a star under the right management eventually, then a permanent with a buy back stands us in decent stead.

If they want a permanent sale, need as much money as possible and don't care how he progresses. Then it probably puts us 2nd or 3rg in line.

I would expect that we have agreed a deal in principal but the injury to moose had led to us wanting to move the deal through quicker than had initially been anticipated.
until it is signed the player, club or agent could scupper it

nb this is not in the know just a logical interpretation of all the info
