I’m Sheffield born and bred but also lived in various other places including London and Leeds. Sheffield city centre has been a shit hole for years, full of pound shops and bookies. There are a few signs of improvement now but long overdue. Leeds is far better. The main thing Sheffield has going for it is its proximity to the fantastic Peak District but doubt that will be a big factor for many footballers.

Yes the centre isn’t great but you can still go somewhere half decent, Eccy Road? If you want a large choice you can travel the short distance to Leeds or Manchester.
