I don’t - but the jist of the forum was the financial impact of Covid on the club. Making sure we didn’t go over budget, and we are safeguarded for the future etc etc. And There were concerns about what we paid for the full backs.

Makes me think it very unlikely we have 20m sat around to buy a striker with. If it happens it’s only going to be a loan imo, and apparently Liverpool need the cash which isn’t an ideal scenario.
Surely the budget isn’t one lump sum to be used how CW wants. It must be split up dependant on what is required.
So just because the Derby lads may be over that part of the budget it doesn’t mean that the strikers budget has disappeared.

Maybe thats why we haven't bought a midfielder?

Think a few myself included are feeling a bit deflated regarding Brewster after the forum .

However there is no smoke without fire so I’m still confident a new striker will be incoming and it could still be the Brewster . Wilder seemed really confident the other day and in him we trust . Let’s see what tomorrow brings !

I think a few, yourself included, need to adapt to a new world where we have a decent (if not ridiculous wealthy) owner who'll pay money if required, and a brilliant manager, and to realise they're not going to talk about what they're doing in the window without downplaying it.

Might happen, might not, but why choose to be miserable and believe it won't?

Let see what tomorrow brings...another 30 pages on this thread and still no signing 🤣

He doesn’t. It’s just the Sheffield way. Expect nowt and if you get summat you won’t be disappointed.
Nah the way on here is when you do get summat you’re still disappointed and will moan about it at every given opportunity.
We’ll announce Brewster and another, yet questions will be asked about why we didn’t sign one of the midfielders from Norwich or Dennis.

We've been linked with Brewster for a while but even Wilder said after the Ramsdale transfer "thats our big signing of the summer"

Maybe wilder and the Prince are just keeping things close to their chest. Why would you tell everyone that we have millions to spend thats just going to drive prices up. With Villa signing two of our potential targets and Fulham signing a player we were after and paying him £50,000 a week to not even make the first match day squad it makes sense for us to be tight lipped even throw people off the trail a bit.

It was out biggest in terms of importance, because we didn't have a goalkeeper.

We have strikers. We need more and better but we do have strikers.

Without Ramsdale we would've been playing either Moore or Foderingham all season.

I have nothing but praise from the current owners and management . I’m far from miserable !!! I was simply saying how this current thread went from optimum a few hours ago to downbeat in a short space of time .

I like a big majority of supporters on here was waiting for confirmation that indeed the information being touted was going to be made official and hopefully still will be .

Let’s hope it happens and if it doesn’t then let’s appreciate the tremendous effort the club have put into trying to make it happen. Because they clearly have hung in there and battled it out against clubs in a more favourable financial position than us.

This is a different Sheffield United to the one I’ve known for the past 50 years and I think they deserve respect for what they are trying to do, even if it doesn’t succeed.

I would forefit Rambo for 1 quality striker. Last season we relied heavily on our back 5, you can't keep pinching 1-0 results forever, we have to get more goal threat and with the strikers we carried over that isn't going to happen this season.

If we had Moore for 38 games we'd need to sign Mbappe and Aubamayang.

Fodders? Strikers are worth more than keepers for a reason.

Well judging by Foderingham's penchant for handling outside the area (twice in two friendlies) we'd be giving plenty of pens away and he'd be suspended a lot.

So maybe just Mbappe.

Still confident we can get this done! Remember we received £3m from WBA for Robinson. I know it’s not a huge amount but if we are struggling for cash this summer, every little helps.
