Good luck to the lad. Hopefully the monkey is off his back now and he can go on a bit of a run. Confidence is everything to a striker so let's hope his rises.

Never, ever been a fool. Naughton stepped across, clipped his feet together like Dorothy off of Wizard of Oz and went to ground trying to buy a free kick. The ref, against everything he did for the rest of the match, didn't fall for it. Nice to see. VAR would've allowed the goal too.
Got out of jail a bit. Not so sure we deserved the win but didn't deserve to lose.
The kind of result we have always ground out during promotion seasons🤞

It looked like it might be a foul from the side / behind view, but from the front camera view you can see Naughton runs across Brewster, trying to impede him but basically goes too far and Brewster can carry on. He should have made sure and wiped him out and got a yellow card.

That is absolutely fantastic play by Brewster for that goal tonight.

Yeah, did really well. Great pace from both players and very unselfish of Rhian to play a neat ball through when in previous seasons he probably would have tried to get a shot off and take the glory - camera angle here at 6:06 is good:

I've never been much convinced by Brewster , but I have to say he made the difference tonight.
He looks more muscular yet has retained some pace.
From the moment he came on he was bang at it.
He should have had that headed goal but was knocked from behind at exactly the right moment by their CB in a totally cynical way - you'll laugh but that's a penalty in my view.
Then he was wrestled to the ground right in front of a dumb lino who gave nothing - wtf do linos ever actually do ? They're a woft.
Then having lost the race , Kyle tries to impede him but for once the ref gets it right + he makes a lovely run & unselfish pass for the goal.
Well done lad.
Ndiaye did sweet FA tonight + you should have been on sooner - maybe you'll start at Preston ?

I feel really sorry for Brewster. We have this new shoot on sight approach, which is fantastic, absolutely not knocking it. But there have been a few times this season, when he has been stood in acres of space, while a teammate whacks a 20 yardrr over the bar. The complete opposite of what Brewster did tonite. Goals will come.

The good thing about his goal contribution tonight was that he chased down a clearance which should have been cleared by Naughton but Rhian was brave enough and strong enough to win a less than 50/50 bouncing ball and drive forward, look up at his options and choose the perfect pass into the path of Khadra.

Well done lad !!

He also outthought the very experienced Kyle Naughton in the chase, being aware KN was going to come across him. Good reffing too, despite him starting off poorly.

It was a brilliant bit of play from Brewster.

To chase down his own flick on, out pace Naughton, hold his strength and keep his composure to play the right final ball.

Great determination and hopefully will give him as much confidence as a goal would.

Our record signing. £23.5 million. He's been here over 2 years now and other stand a run of a few games last season has done very little. He's clearly got attributes, pace, great shot, directness, but he still seems incapable of knowing how he is meant to play as a striker.

Those people calling for him to start seem to have not watched his inability to lead a line. The lack of movement. The lack of runs. The terrible first touch. Lack of strength. Inability to hold the ball up or protect it. Half-hearted attempts to compete for headers unitless it's a chance at goal.

I think he gets away with much of this next to another, more dominant striker, but not next to Ndiaye.

Don't get me wrong, there's a player in there, but this lack of grasping the basics is frustrating. I think the only way he's going to become a good player is if he plays every game, but he's not even our second best option in the formation we play. The fans expect success, so there's no way to blood younger players properly.

He still remains a bizarre signing.

Where is the player in there, Liverpool had our pants down with him.
Get him sold and take a massive hit with the fee.
I don't think he's the worst player to have on the bench. Had an influence yesterday, even if he missed the penalty.

He must want to play regularly, surely though. 22 now. It's not suiting us or him. Since we have him until 2025, I'd be tempted to look at a loan in January. What he needs is regular football. I doubt we'd get much for him at the moment is we sold him.

He looks like a mental/confident boost would be good for him as he is trying hard but having too few success. A run of few goals like Berge, Anel and even Norwoid have had could do wonders to him.

Why the hell did Hecky put him on penalties, we all knew he'd miss it.

Did we? The penalty wasn’t that bad. Hit it hard and high giving the keeper no chance even if he’d gone the right way. 2 cm to the left and it’s perfect. Also 9/10 times that would have hit the keeper and gone in. I feel for him

Yep, pen was fine. Half an inch to the left and it's never saved, I would rather have a striker trust his technique to put it into the top corner instead of just hitting a weak, safe pen which is saved every time if the keeper guesses right

It was bad because he missed the target, 2cm or 1m it doesn't matter
