Revelution not Evoloution

The problem is that he said evolution not revolution and yet he’s ripped up something we’ve done well for five years and tried to get them to play something else. The players look confused. Why not play the system they know and tweak it to create more opportunities. I’m sure he’ll get it right eventually.

Slav has inherited a busted flush, not a chance in hell can he turn these players into a free flowing side like he did with Fulham.

He needs at least 3 windows, the Wilder era is done.

This is still the dregs of the Wilder era. Slav is just shoveling the shit he left behind and trying to turn it into something useful.

Bit harsh to call it his era at the moment, maybe if we get the 5 in he wants then it'll be his.

With the current players we are trapped in the wilder formation until new blood comes, we cant change to wingers and we have one attacking midfielder (freeman) who clearly isnt ever going to play for us, got to feel for Slav.

Imo recruitement has been very poor to overlook the lack of creativity.

3 transfer windows. We would be lucky to get 5 first team starters signed/loaned in 18 months. We would also lose a few first framers in this time.

We either settle into Slavs tactics and requirements or it could be a long time to change this team with the length of contracts dished out by Wilder

The wish list of how many players we need is growing. We all knew that central midfield and defence was the problem. But now it seems like we need to bring in width. It’s worrying because the inflexibility of previous management teams has left us with a squad truly in capable of playing in any other way above a mid table championship standard.

Time is needed, which will more than likely mean we miss out on automatic promotion and possible playoffs. What people forget is that when Slav “turned it around“ at Fulham he had a chairman with a chequebook and at Watford he had a large squad with plenty of options. He’s doesn’t have any of those here.

Too much revolution, not enough evolution. You cannot magic the players equipped to play 4-3-3. Slav has inherited a team that needed a centre back (would Robinson at LCB be THAT bad at Champ level?) and a midfielder, and has attempted to fit twenty plus square pegs in a similar amount of round holes. He's been found wanting tactically so far; all in all he's a bit lucky to have a point and a cup win to his name. He's setting his forward line up to suit Burke (our worst forward player); our back line up to suit nobody; and, to compound everything, because of the backline being as it is, we can't kick the ball on the ground to our midfield players and have just been passed off the park by a toothless Swansea. He did rectify the Mcgoldrick situation today, but we couldn't get him on the ball because the midfielders couldn't kick it to him, because the defenders couldn't kick it to them. We looked best today when we went long which says it all. Swansea were all over the shop at the back but we couldn't really trouble them for large parts. As soon as we did the chances were there.
