At best he's on some funky hire purchase arrangement which walks like a loan, talks like a loan and quacks like a loan!

To me, he's more 'Other', returns to Rubin Kazan with our thanks and best wishes.

Either way, Big Fil probably feels that if his Rubin Kazan contract remains suspended he can do better than occasionally sit on our bench, which is understandable. He's probably on more than a few chocolate buttons too.

Wouldn't it be great if chocolate buttons became the new international currency with Putin demanding to be paid in giant chocolate ones. Could lead to inflation or possibly result in economies going into meltdown though.

Wonder what reception he'll get if he goes back to Rubin Kazan. Can imagine a fair bit of grief
Yeah I think this will be a big factor.

Bear in mind that the Russian League didn't stop, the Ukrainian season was cancelled and he chose to exercise his right to leave Rubin Kazan while they were in the middle of a relegation battle, it doesn't feel like a situation he'd want to go back to (having already left once) and is unlikely to be welcomed back to.

They were relegated in the end (season finished last weekend), which might simplify things.

Interestingly they were 1 place above the relegation zone going into the last day, at home to the team immediately below them. They had a small chance of staying up properly if they won and other results went their way, but even a draw would've guaranteed them a place in the relegation playoff places and avoided automatic.

They lost, thanks to conceding a 90th minute winner and missing a penalty in the 11th minute of injury time.

Bloody hell, they should be twinned with us with that kind of luck!

Surprised we're offering Leo Gaxha a new contract. 20 now and seems to be plagued by injuries. Must be very good in training

Watched him in the last game and he didn't impact the game. He has been injured so for only a few extra quid maybe they just want to give him a fair crack with no regrets?

Maybe way off the mark here but with how we are structured surely there has to be a group albeit small of young players whose development is not as important to the club.

Literally, kids to make up numbers. I wouldn't be surprised to see the better of the young players loaned out because they have to in order to get minutes, it's detrimental to their development otherwise, and then there are those who aren't as obvious to make the grade so will hang around making up the numbers. Like my favourite target with whom ill reiterate I have no issue but it seems like I do, Jake Eastwood

Gaxha is potentially a v good player who has been unfortunate with injuries, no doubt we see something in him and the cost of his contract is minimal for what could potentially be a v good player if he shows consistent fitness.

That is exactly what happens with the younger players, a small number of players are looked upon as destined to make the grade and will hopefully reach the first team squad. The others make the numbers up enabling games to be played and end up dropping by the wayside at some point. Harsh, but the way football goes I'm afraid.

His contract runs with Rubin Kazan until June 2024. I was confused about this, I also thought he became a free agent this summer anyway but it seems he signed a new deal in the last year but most sources (ie Transfermarkt) didn't update the info until he joined us.

It shows as a loan as they don't have a way to show a suspended contract.

Thanks to Hal YorkBlade for setting the record straight on that.

Rubin Kazan now relegated which may well mean he's free to look at offers with other clubs depending on the relegation clause in his deal.

Did we get £10m of football out of Mousset?
I think we just about did. Came in to be a Prem star. Was indeed a Prem star for a bit. Sad just how far off the pace he fell but I don't think his purchase was a failure.

We probably did. Based on this years prize money, finishing 9th received approx 10m more than finishing 13th. We could have got 10 less points and finished 13th. Did Moose help us get 10 points - maybe just about?

Wonder if we actually paid 10m for him or if this was the "up to" figure.

Its the new cryptocurrency.

No but McDonalds did.

Fans of Swansea say that McBurnie is a goal machine......what's your point?
Mate of mine is. Rangers fan and before he came told me that he'd been very reliable for them it's just that McGregor was such a club legend they couldn't turn it down. Plus he's a Rangers man (TM).

Can some kind soul do a list of first teamers who are actually contracted to us for 22/23 ?

Has Kyron Gordon only got a year left on his contract?
If so, very worrying, if he can walk away on a free at the end of next season.
why haven’t we offered him a new deal?
