I'm in floods of tears over Luke Freeman, he just needed a(nother) preseason

Jake Eastwood is going to be here for life, isn't he?!

I assume this means that our younger keepers are nowhere near good enough to sit on a bench, if needed. And that Jake is cheap!

I assume Uremovic might be more to do with still being in this league than anything else. Probably outside of our reach financially and another year of having his nose broken in the English second division might not appeal!

Re Eastwood, it may be more down to our academy keepers being earmarked for going out on loan again, with most of them getting minutes in non-league last season but not close to knocking on the door. That 3rd keeper position is a difficult one to recruit for, need someone (without being critical of JE) who is not hugely ambitious, happy to play a selfless role and isn't expensive. Very unlikely he'll get on the pitch so if he left it's tough to sell that role to someone coming in.

Uremovic is a bit more cut and dried. I don't really think it reached the stage where budget and what division we're in became relevant. The authorities haven't yet given an update as to what happens to Russian contracted players beyond June 30th and PH has been clear that he wants to get cracking on with his summer plans and he doesn't fancy waiting to see how this situation develops.

Surprised Uremovic is listed, he isn’t technically our player.
His contract in Russia was set to expire this year, so if it was summer there might have been an option to extend? Probably contingent on us going up, at a guess.

Weird isn't it? Like saying we've decided to give a free to Hourihane and we're not offering a new deal to Gibbs-White!

As it stands today Uremovic is our player, not on loan, and with his Blades contract is due to expire we've announced he won't be offered a new one. It's no different to Mousset, McGoldrick or Freeman.

Of course the bigger picture is more complicated but his previous contract is suspended until June 30th so as far as this announcement goes it's pretty standard.

But who's going to buy Mousset his burgers and kebabs?

His contract runs with Rubin Kazan until June 2024. I was confused about this, I also thought he became a free agent this summer anyway but it seems he signed a new deal in the last year but most sources (ie Transfermarkt) didn't update the info until he joined us.

It shows as a loan as they don't have a way to show a suspended contract.

Thanks to Hal YorkBlade for setting the record straight on that.

Who's going on the transfer list/available for transfer?

Guess it's

Burke
Verrips
Broadbent?
Lowe?

Thanks. The last news I saw on that was a 4 year contract signed in 2018.

What are we doing with Broadbent? He's had another unsuccessful loan by the look at it. He's one of those players who seems to have largely gone under the radar but seems to have a long contract.

It might have been the situation that if his contract with Kazan was expiring at the end of 2022 anyway, FIFA/UEFA/FA/whoever treated it as terminating the contract with Kazan, rather than suspending it, and he was technically our player? But yeah, seems a little odd but it's a bit of a unique situation

I want to be Jake Eastwood, what a life!
Get to be a Blade, get to hang out and have a laugh with the squad, get to play football every day and earn good money...all that without the pressure and stress of actually having to play on a matchday...I'm well jel

He had a great season but can he keep it up fans of rangers and other teams he's played for say he's a mistake waiting to happen is my point tis all

At best he's on some funky hire purchase arrangement which walks like a loan, talks like a loan and quacks like a loan!

To me, he's more 'Other', returns to Rubin Kazan with our thanks and best wishes.

Either way, Big Fil probably feels that if his Rubin Kazan contract remains suspended he can do better than occasionally sit on our bench, which is understandable. He's probably on more than a few chocolate buttons too.

Wonder what reception he'll get if he goes back to Rubin Kazan. Can imagine a fair bit of grief
