Too many mistakes in recruitment. 5 in total offered out now plus 2 released ( though Donaldson was always short term)

Some excellent signings but 6 mistakes is wasteful.

That 6 doesn't include those who stay on and haven't shown much yet.

Sharpen up Blades.

Donaldson cost next to nothing and was a useful back up this year. Lavery came on a free. Hanson did a job at an important moment for the club. Long and Reed were youth prospects. Heneghan I'm not sure what to make of. Carruthers and Thomas are the only two you could classify as failures really, and no club gets in right 100 per cent of the time.

The only ones of note, for me, are Heneghan and Thomas, who I thought might have been offered another year. Either Wilder has decided they were mistakes, or he is trimming the wage bill in anticipation of [...]., well, insert whatever you want, given current uncertainties.

Additionally, Long, given his rave reviews at AFC Dons. There was interesting wriggle room there. Does it mean we have a 'keeper lined up to replace Blackman ? (Possibly Blackman ?).

If I can get away with it, without being characterised as a vulgar, uncouth moron, who never comments on football, and whose limited moral authority and intellectual ability need reflecting in someone else's superior mirror, could I suggest that this OP might have been posted in the existing thread on the retain/release list ?

Yep and there is definitely players in there with carruthers and Thomas. Sometimes a club just doesn't fit. But let's be honest the ones he has signed that have fitted have been outstanding, every manager gets it wrong. Thing with wilder is he ain't stubborn. Whether he signed them or not if they don't cut it he soon puts it right

I'm sure they'll take it on board now you've wielded your considerable influential power.

OK . Re-phrase the o.p.

"Posting on a forum, as a member and a fan. I have concerns that we have made too many mistakes in our incoming signings.

What do other Forum members think? Well worth a debate."

Bash. I'm not really talking to SUFC direct when I post on here. It's just a discussion point and a worthy one at that.

All just gambles, with the possible exception of Hanson and Carruthers. Personally, I'd see Hanson as a success as he helped us cement automatic promotion. Me, and a couple of others were advocating us gambling on Bogle, Marriot or another young striker ,but we clearly didn't have the money at the time. The risk vs reward is high with these signings, so not much ventured not much gained would be the conclusion. It's a sign of the times that they're the type of players were in for though.

Got to agree.

Add in the loan disaster that is / was James Wilson !

But, Tufty is in credit. And in Tufty I trust.

It is a worthwhile debate, which is why someone already started the exact same thread

I do not need, or want, your approval. Did you really look for the existing thread ? If so, how did you miss it ? Or did you just assume that your superior everything meant that no-one could possibly have got to the subject before you ?

But I do agree that Foxy should DO SOMETHING !! FFS Foxy. Get off your lazy backside and TAKE SOME ACTION !!!!!

I could report you for that really poor comment. But I will not.

Edit. Maybe next time.

There are many members of this forum who could have reported YOU during the last years, months, weeks, days, hours, for your consistently insulting nonsense.

But, as we know, self-awareness isn't really your thing, is it ?

How exactly is it a failure in recruitment when some of them offered out are clearly being allowed to go just on loan to get first team experience (Thomas, Heneghan), some are similar but came through the youth ranks and can hardly be classed as recruitment (Reed, Long), while others filled a need at some point which is now no longer there (Donaldson, Hanson)? I'll give you Hussey and Carruthers, and to some extent Lavery, but the whole premise of the OP is comical. What if we managed to sell Lavery for a profit, would that also be a failure in recruitment?

Thomas is one I would have liked to have seen in a few more games as I thought he had skills to offer, namely his pace and his missile-like shot. However, if CW and AK have decided that he is surplus to requirements, then so be it.

If the starting team on the last day of the season can play anything like that next time, we won't be in bad shape.

No, Bladezz is right.

Thinking that you can threaten or bully your way around the forum is unhealthy, egotistical, and clearly suggests you have an inflated sense of your own worth to this forum. Rather than behave with humility (which may not be possible), accept criticism or even banter, you seem to think that a few curt words, the possibility that you will 'report' someone simply because they offer criticism of yourself is woeful and you should be ashamed.

Long tried it on big style with contract issues when Adkins left ,it was never going to wash with Wilder ,hopefully hes learned a lesson and wont be such a twat in future. And hes rubbish.

To be fair, I don't think you can lay the blame at Long's door on his most recent contract :)

Hey up Woody!

That’s a bit harsh! I can’t think of any manager who didn’t make bad recruits. You have to look at what the managers achieved and Wilders done miracles on very little money.

He can sign 10 duds for me if he keeps pulling rabbits out the hat as he has done.

Hey up Cerberus,

Where does it say Reed has been released as I can't find it?

I imagine Long will have been gutted playing for Wimbledon on Championship money. But as 'he's rubbish' he will have to make the most of it as I can't see any club wanting him anytime soon.

Adkins ,agent ,Long all culpable ,all out to fleece me and thee. Anyway hes shit ,Wimbledons standards and audience are quite different to ours without wanting to sound like a pig. #lyletaylor
