Based on what evidence? Everyone knows there's got to be cost cutting. Jairo did okay but hardly a massive loss. Let's see who his replacement is before having a meltdown.Jairo smacks of owners not wanting to put money in/cost cutting
Reading online he was settled here and was looking at a new contract. Wages had to be the thing, he was on the same as Rothwell according to sources onlineIf that was his decision fair enough. If it was our decision, whoever made that decision deserves to be fired
Literally just saw him on a jet2 flight from Mallorca to Glasgow… the exact signing Celtic or Rangers would make imoKalvin Phillips nailed on to return, so we won't need him.
Wrexham nailed onJust checked official site and there definitely was an option so can only think its a wage issue - remember there being Saudi talk when he first signed
Shacks be first choice Right back next season. That central midfield area is looking honking. Peck will be sold, Arblaster hasn't looked anything like he did prior to his injury, then you've got Shackleton and Rothwell... Centre mids must be a priority, as without Souza, we were bullied there against most sides last season.
Saved over £5.2 Mill in wages for next season out of 4 players plus any agent fees involving activating the clause for Jairo, so takes us down to just the £24mill or so now.... still not under the bracket for SRR we would be with a sale of Hamer or big sale on a youth talent. Unless the owners plug the gap we still can't sign anyone until someone else goes.Players over 24 as at 30th June 2026 retained

For 40 minutes the ucked the rest of the seasonShacks be first choice Right back next season.
Jairo one is a bit strange. Seemed to help us turn it around when he came in.
But Wilder was also talking about having a smaller squad overall.
I guess in that central midfield it's expected we will have Arblaster, Rothwell and sort of O'Hare. With chances of Hamer or Peck remaining (Doubtful).
Reckon we will look to bring in another which may be Phillips on loan again.
Perhaps the thinking with releasing Jairo is to free up wages to offer Hamer a new deal? Can't see it though, think we will need to take the fee for him instead.
Born April 2003, so he's just turned 23.Most sources say Femi Seriki's birthday is 28 April 2002, which means he's 24. Yet, he's listed in the under 24 group here. Wilder also seems to think he's still a kid. So what is right?
Are you though?I’m shocked
Mentioned it earlier somewhere but Jairo being released has been talked about at the club since April. Are you though?
But Jairo's contract was up, Chong and Shackleton are still contracted so we can't just release them?Jairo is a quality player. Wilder must be mad. Then we keep Chong, Shackleton, Obenge. They will live to regret this
This sounds an awful lot like what Selles tried to do?I've got a fairly open mind about where to use Brooks pace & talent , apart from the fact that I'm against inverted wingers unless their weaker foot is at least decent - and I think he struggles on the RW.
I think it's great that we have a good young L-footed player and I like the fact that despite being an attack-minded lad , he is competent at getting back and tackling.
I'd like to see him tried on the left side of midfield , whether wide or central , I don't mind.
Given that we will be skint this summer and our midfield looks pretty average , I think we should be developing Brooks with a view to him possibly being an ACM - we certainly can't afford to buy one !
Ps - it's sad but I just don't see Blaster regaining his prior form & career trajectory - great shame but that injury has taken something away from him.
Hoping he can surprise me.
Fotmob, Transfermarkt, Soccerbase, Wikipedia, WhoScored, Premierleague.com, OptaAnalyst are among the sites who's got it wrong then.Born April 2003, so he's just turned 23.
From the Athletic
"That defeat at Newcastle was not the first time Seriki had made the bench in senior football. He had been named among the substitutes as Bury beat Mansfield Town in the EFL Trophy just before Christmas 2018 when aged 15 years and 220 days."
