Blades boss ready for relegation clear-out
20070422 18:04

Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock says he will have to let some players go should the Blades be relegated next month.
Warnock revealed the plans are in place at Bramall Lane if the club go back to the Championship, although he remains confident they can pick up the necessary points to ensure another season in the top flight.
"We were very responsible with contracts and the players will have drops in wages if we are relegated," he told the Yorkshire Post.
"That's what you've got to do when you come up so that you don't get into trouble.
"Our wage bill was structured to the Premiership this year and if we get relegated it will be structured to the Championship."

Looks like some lads will be on there way if the worse happens. Hopefully its just squad players that will be shown the door.

cant see tonge going tbh. jagz and kenny yes and maybe keef. webber?

If you think it will only be squad players if we drop you do live in a dream world.

Jags, Tonge, Kenny and Keef for starters!

Well we do boast about no longer being a selling club. Although true i would expect jags definatly to go. Warnock said if we were to go down the players would go back to championship wages. So that will probably put some of them off staying.

Warnock: No pressure to sell
By Alex Livie - Created on 27 Apr 2007

Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock has insisted he will not be forced into a fire sale if The Blades slip out of the Premiership.

United have kept their heads above water for much of the campaign, but are still in the relegation scrap with three games remaining.

Warnock is confident they will be able to stave off the threat of relegation, but should they slip out of the Premiership he insists there will be no pressure to sell.

"We were very responsible with contracts," he told The Sun. "The players would automatically take a drop in wages if we were relegated.

"We wouldn't be forced to sell players. We'd lose players I'd want to lose."

The Blades entertain already relegated Watford on Saturday, followed by a trip to Aston Villa and a home clash with Wigan.

Maybe we wont lose the likes of jags then ?

Lets Get Rid Of Kozzy Lets Get Rid Of Kozzy Na Na Na Na Na

thats a bit harsh, he's one of the most consitent performers at the club robbie:rolleyes:

I notice that you have neglected to state the level at which he is consistent.

The bloke that comes last in every race is consistent.

Aplogies, pre-match nerves may be effecting my perception.

i probably shouldn't have run over that cat that was mocking our survival chances by slowly walking across the road either...my bad.

haha quality stuff. I don't have any pre-match nerves, yet!

When I spoke to Terry Robinson a couple of years ago he said that as we were pushing for promotion the club had several possibilities to plan for.
Not getting promoted, needing to spend wisely for a promotion push, promotion then relegation, and promotion and survival.
Any club in our situation will have the best- and worse-case-scenarios, and every possibility in between planned for well before it happens. Those who fail to do so will find their lack of proper budgeting biting them on the arse, i.e. Dirty Leeds.

If your on about west ham i said he had a good game and put a few good challenges

I cant stand him

You cant stand one of your teams own players?

What exactly has the lad done for you say you 'cant stand' him?

I've heard worse than you about monty ;)

I just think he is too over rated

When he 1st started he ran at players had pace

Now he does nothing for me, no pace, no skill, doesnt run at people anymore, does not tackle, cant head a ball
