Relegation battle

No, he's definitely got to change things. Today, with this formation, it's a relegation side. It's about him changing quickly. I'm sure he must have seen enough.
I agree and I hope he does. My fear is he comes across as an intransigent personality, very much "my way or the highway", if they're not doing what I want then they need to run further and kick it harder etc.

Ive screenshot your post sbb, hope I never have to use it in we told you so. This club is toxic at the moment, players happy to get away, strikers scoring all over uk that couldn't shit down the bog while sitting on it for us, rumours of dressing room fall outs, owners in absentia, slashing costs not investing. The writings on the wall this is SERIOUS
B56 we all know that if things were left as they were then there is a possibility we could struggle and end up in a relegation battle. However we know new faces should be arriving soon to bolster the squad. If it needs changing in the future I've no doubt Wilder will change it. Personally I think he kept the same team for the first 4 games to try and get some stability but wasn't afraid to shake things up today. We just have to be patient and give the team and new arrivals time to gel. Barnsley are a great example of how things can change.

Wilson should have had a Plan B.
It wasn't cut and dried if Ched would get off.

We still had enough about us to get promotion.

Wilson too, part of where we are now.

I think he could have had a plan B to Z and it wouldn't have made much difference
The very nature of what happened knocked the stuffing and momentum out of the club completely

Wilson then didn't get backed sufficiently with replacements for players he lost the following season and got narked about it, stood about with his arms folded instead of offering encouragement and even bollockings to his players.
He lost his drive, lost his commitment, looked 20 years older and his players did the same. But I don't blame him with hindsight because this club has turned all of it's managers since into gaunt, ghostly, waffling figures that look one step away from the grave.

I'm sure it wont be long before he looks like he's about to keel over

I didn't go today but from those that did, was it 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1? I ask because I notice people mentioned Done up top, which possibly indicated that Done was up there on his own?

Finger crossing new signings will arrive again.

Why does anyone think

A)3-4 signings we need will arrive
B) the board will spend the cas
C) the players will be good enough

Genuine questions

Let's turn it around. Why do people think they won't arrive or be good enough?
Based purely and simply on what's happened to us in the past?
It's just a question of patience. It frustrates our tits off after 6 years but we've exhausted all other ways of dealing with things

People think they won't arrive because of the last 6 years of transfer business in 'the window'

Remember last year Adkins saying 'trying to get 2 over the line, working hard behind the scenes'

Wilder is saying word for word the same things

Granted but that doesn't automatically mean it's going to happen again. We have freed up funds and we have 10 days to bring players in. I'll be the first to critisize if nobody comes in. It's just a case of wait and see

Arsenal have just one point from two games. If they lose their next two they'll be in an identical position to us.

If they do, should we conclude that Arsenal will be in a relegation battle this season, and will do well not to get relegated to the Championship?

I can't believe all the negativity after just three L1 losses, two of which we were unlucky not to take a point. We could just as easily have taken all three at Bolton, and been 3 points off the play offs now

Wilson had a plan B, C and D. Beattie, O'Halloran and Hoskins. None worked out. That was desperately unlucky.

More new signings doesn't mean success.
(Another four Big Harv types and we'll be fine.... )

It means more time needed for them to gel as a unit.

Time to be doing this was pre-season, not a month into it and stranded at the bottom of League One.

By the time he knows his best XI, we might be welcoming in the January Transfer Window...
and sending out P45s.

Brannigan got the blame last time. Haven't we got a new man on board for this?

Haven't we got a new man on board for this?

That'll be the new excuse.
Better go out and find one.
Then when he/she fails.
It'll be their fault.
So we employ no one.
That fails, so then we decide we do need someone.
Then whoever is the Mug to take that on and fails,
we'll decide it's better without....

What's Neil doing at the moment?

Your gold plated 5000th like Lydon....

Would you pack your job in and go work for a company struggling to exist? Can't see us signing anyone of note at the moment. More outgoings than incoming that might just put a smile on some property developers face
This, why would anyone of substance come here, unless it was for big bucks. ( which we're not going to pay). Even the average joes want a lump before they come to a club in decline. Get McCabe to find a suitable buyer but no cash up front. one that's going to put serious money in. McCabe steps aside and collects the rent for the ground, or one of his companies, whatever. He gets money each year from the new owner, based on where we are in the league/ leagues. If and when the new owners get us to the promised land, ( not that I'm in a hurry to join scudamores bent clique.) he gets is money and more. Where we're at, at the moment he's getting no return, only bleeding money slowly, making the debt bigger. I've not mentioned princey, because I don't know what is function is ,other than subsidise some of McCabes costs. I'll give him his £1 back.

They'll be back at some point this season several times probably. Its about not being high on crack during a purple patch and not putting your head in the oven when we lose.

don't really see what the problem is:

The team that started the season as 4-4-2 was pathetic and had relegation written all over.

The present team, formation and attitude is no where near what we started with - all the credit goes to the management team - they openly accepted the problem, agreed some players and playing decisions were wrong - changed it round and here we are now - making very very quick progress.

I'm writing as someone NOT on the thread but not being smug about that as some are.

Those first four games looked appalling, but my opinion was it was way too soon to jump in and ask for Wilders head, he was following two managers who had set us back two to three years, (and actually unless I missed it I don't see a post on here that does ask for his head)

I am delighted that he has turned it around, let's concentrate on how to now move it forward to a full on assault on the top two places rather than going "nah nah nah dee nah nah" at others.
