Did he tell you that?

How many games did he play for Cambridge before coming off injured?
What on earth has that got to do with anything?

He was asked about Kennedy and his injuries in the interview, no injuries were mentioned.

So based on Adkins not saying he's injured you think he's fit to start for the Blades?

Adkins sent Kennedy to Cambridge to get game-time and up to speed to start for us.

The lad broke down injured and was sent back..now what does that suggest...?

He's not fit:cool:

So you don't think we should be playing our best team wherever possible?

Do you think a defender who cannot play consecutive games and who isn't in the Cambridge squad constitutes our best team?

That old chestnut again. "It happened in the past so it must happen in the future".

It occurs with the reluctance to sack managers and it's going a way to contribute to where we are.

It's symbolic of a narrow mind.

By that old chestnut, I assume you mean the truth?

Or am I to assume that you think he doesn't have chronic problems with his knees and that he'd be OK to play the rest of the season?

As for narrow minds, another delicious bit of irony for your collection.

Yes we've been really reluctant to sack managers over the last few years haven't we?

Why has he not gone and found another career then if he's done and dusted in football?

You're talking out of your arse, as usual.

Because he's got a very nice contract with us up to now, which I imagine will not be renewed.

You've started one of your child like logic free arguments again that you can't win.

At least this one is slightly less ridiculous than your bullshit about paying everyone's contracts up.

...comedy gold, once more...

So he'll take up another career once his contract's ran out then?

We won't sack Adkins because of what has happened in the past.

What sacking three managers in four years and being stuck in league one you mean?

Sounds like a plan to stick with one to me, especially one with a track record of promotions at this level.

Who am I supposed to be, his brother?

Some lower league club might take a punt on him where he'll continue to break down with injuries, he certainly won't play above this level.

Yes, and that's exactly what I mean when I refer to the old "chestnut".

Learning is one thing. Avoidance is dangerous.

If he's as finished as you say he is, don't you think the managers and the scouts of said league two clubs will be just as advised as you are and opt not to sign him?

Now let's say I am a professional footballer and I have endured two or three knee problems over a few years resulting in a certain lack of cartilage in a fairly vital areas of the equipment I need to do my job. (A job I love incidentally as well as it being all I have wanted to do since age 11). This has lead me to a situation whereby I cannot play more than three games in two weeks for a 3rd division side without breaking down for another six weeks. (24 games in 5 years)
Do I:-

1. Accept the game is up and I have to retire from the game voluntarily and say bye bye thus losing 2k a week and trying to find job outside football at half that if I am lucky.
2. Hope against hope that against all medical prognosis I will get through a few more games a season than I have done and miracle of miracles I am kept on.
3. As above but someone else in the 4th division will take a risk on me at 2k a week.
4.Stay where I am, try and play wherever I am sent until it is so apparent to the medical staff at my home club and elsewhere that I cannot play at a professional level such that the insurance policy kicks in and I can retire reasonably comfortably on the benefits.

I think option 4 is a reasonable explanation why at present Kennedy has not bothered to find another career outside football. Bearing on mind my two knee operations and an overwhelming desire against all the odds to continue top level skiing I can also see 2 being a factor.

Depends what you are avoiding, if it is avoiding another knee jerk car crash of sacking a manager I will be delighted if we avoid that.

The main problem with that is that no where on this thread have I said "he is finished".
I said he can't play consecutive games due to reoccurring injury. Which is true.
And which is why he shouldn't be in our team.
And why he was sent back from Cambridge.

We'll see about that when we stupidly let Adkins sign another batch of players in the summer.

Ok, but you're also saying a league two club might sign him knowing such fact? Doesn't add up.

They may take a punt on pay as you play as happens with injury prone players.
If it wasn't for his regular injuries he'd be s great player for us.
But his body is stopping him.

It's not a conspiracy from Nigel Adkins.

Ok, but you're also saying a league two club might sign him knowing such fact? Doesn't add up.

...and you're using a young lad who is battling to save his professional football career as a stick with which to beat Adkins.

Takes a special kind of comedy genius to do that...
