Referees

The maximum six second rule on the goalie having possession of the ball should be THE easiest to monitor, especially from pitch side. But guess what ?? ….. no, it’s far too difficult for the officials to enforce. 🙄
I forgot to mention in my post above that all referees are cunts. That doesn’t help. Something simple like counting to 6 really shouldn’t be hard. Put a big fucking timer on the big screen, that will hurry keepers up.

I thought I saw an Arsenal player brandishing an imaginary card to the ref tonight. Didn't a Donny player get a second yellow for this a couple of weeks ago?

They could make the throw in limit also six seconds, then at least there’s something to measure against. Otherwise it’s just the ref shitting himself because the crowd are on his back so he better make a decision and get the card out.

This used to be a European thing, waving the imaginary card. Same as rolling around at the slightest touch. Trouble is, it’s been going on un checked for so long that our English players do the same thing. Meks me seeeethe !! 😡

Rotherham player, against Blackburn, scored to make it 2-0, got his first yellow card for celebrating a goal and players celebrating with him pushed him into the fans so got a booking for that, and then got his second yellow about 2 minutes later for brandishing an imaginary card. No booking in the Arsenal game for that tonight, and I’ve seen a couple of games recently where players celebrated with the fans and nothing shown then, so there’s no consistency at all. The red for the Arsenal lad tonight was a complete joke which can’t be appealed as it’s 2 yellows. They’ll be some games this season where there’re multiple sendings off, lets hope the new rules that favour us for a change🙄

I think it was a rotherham player and I think (could be wrong) they actually got an apology as it wasnt actually a bookable offence.

I've just googled it and the ref did apologise, but for the first booking. He said the second, for the imaginary brandishing a card, was justified. Always the big clubs that get away with it.

- Book anyone sneaking yards or taking ages on a throw in THE FIRST TIME THEY DO IT and award the throw the other way
Tomiasyu was a great case in point yesterday. arsenal as a team takes to long. yellow card & then the drag back "take 1 for the team" to stop the momentum, yellow card. & bang sent off. that will send shockwaves through the dark arts managers.

as thats the 1st time since maybe hagi at euro 2000? who was sent off for 2 dives. when a player has been sent off for 2 yellow card offences. as how many times have we seen a pundit say if he wasnt already on a yellow card he wouldve been booked. which frustrates me because if its a yellow its a yellow whether youve been booked before or not

- Injuries, just make the cunts go off to the side to be treated immediately, no fucking about on the pitch, roll the cunts off.
i think they are planning to do that & wasnt bruno fernandes or someone else. who was annoyed they couldnt coke back on straight away the team has to play on with 10 men for a minute to discourage it

I vaguely remember a game from way back when where the opposition keeper was taking far too long when he had the ball so McCall started standing in front of him counting the seconds with his fingers in the air so the ref could see 😂

Wouldn’t surprise me if McCall got booked this season if he did the same

......usually short, bald blokes with 'big I am' complexes who run around a lot, favour the bigger club nine times out of ten, and make a boat load of mistakes....
But I never said it was easy.

Yes, I think Max Lowe or Baldock had to stay off for 30 seconds, but I’m talking about rolling them off and letting all treatment occur at the side of the pitch.

I know the medical experts will say this is too risky but there’s a probably 1 in 100 times when it’s a genuine injury needing attention on the pitch. The rest are treatable at pitchside.

Apart from that bloke with the t shirt muscles who flexes his biceps when he holds the board up 🔔🔚

well i was saying that players were in danger of worst case scenario killing someone at the football, because we were seeing it that referees were rightly 99% of the time were ignoring players on the ground because they were faking it. but what about that 1 in 100 or 1 in 1000. where we have a an actual medical issue but the referee sick off time wasting, says play on

Why can't the injured players be treated on the pitch whilst the game goes on as in rugby matches?

I think the point is that no one who gets to referee at a professional level can have had 15 years as a semi professional footballer or higher.
This is going to change soon, PFA are actively searching for Current and Ex players that want to enrol in a 3 year scholarship in referring with them being fast tracked to the highest level.

Will be interesting to see if any current and past big names take up the offer or maybe it will be lower league players who go for it.

Enjoyed this

I like watching the Overlap. Many say it's just a 90's Man U channel, and I get that, but it's my era, so I've persevered

This episode is the first that feels like it's a work conversation, where you've got experts in their field discussing said fields, not just reminiscing. Decent insight. I also love how much of a nerd Howard is. I like someone who just loves what they do. And, well done to his Dad making him support his local team.
