How many ridiculous decisions have we seen over the past few matches?

The best officials are the ones you don't notice... yet on Sunday and last night, the referees wanted to put their stamp on the game.

Sundays events have been well documented. But last night?

A referee being conned by "injured" players. I know that referees have to give injuries the benefit of the doubt. But surely having a word would be appropriate when a player has gone down clutching his face and writhing around only to jump up once play (in our possession) has stopped?

A referee that booked a player for a challenge he didn't see. The referee was just about on line with me when Webber's challenge went in, and his back was pretty much to it. The free kick was only given when he saw their player on the floor and he booked Webber without even a word from his linesman. How can he do this? He did not see the challenge.

Was the foul on Webber a penalty? I'm yet to see it again so I darent say. But how about something simple like counting yards out for a free kick? That wall should have been behind the penalty spot but weren't. Surely something like that isn't open to interpretation?

I'd be interested to hear the views of our referees :)

I'm pretty much in line with the edge of the box and no, it wasn't a penalty. Very close, mind! As for the counting yards, I was saying to TA senior:

it's an 18 yard box;
the penalty spot is 12 yards from the goal, leaving;
6 yards from the spot to the edge of the box, and;
10 yards to the edge of the crescent.

Our free kick was in the middle of the crescent so it's safe to assume that it is 8 yards away from the penalty spot.

Yet the wall stands a yard in front of the spot - 7 yards from the free kick.

Not that it wasn't clear to anyone with eyes.

I think you are a couple of inches out mate!

Sorry mate, I'm hopelessly trying to get to grips with this archaic measurement system. It's like trying to learn Latin or ancient Hebrew!

If you need any help with the metric system, give me a shout! :D:p:D

Its only going to get worse. Rob Styles made one of his trademark fuck ups at the weekend, sending off Abib Bay (or something) for having the bare faced cheek to make a tackle and he has now been given a week off, presumably to take the wife to Skeggy.
He will return to action in the Championship the week later taking charge of the Bristol v Blades game.

So the man shows he’s utterly incompetent at officiating a game of football, and we get stuck with him. Cheers for that.

Now, I’m not the kind of man to bear irrational grudges but, personally, I still hold him fully responsible for our relegation.

How do they find these referees? Do you have to fail an IQ test or have a visual impairment? Or do they simply just have to swear allegiance to Keith Hacket and his Jihad against common sense on the promise of 15 virgins? Surely to be as rubbish as Styles you have to be doing it on purpose?

Aye... I've just read that.

Why do Premiership referees get punished by officiating a match in the lower leagues? If they can't referee a match, then they can't referee... no matter what league that match is in.

I wouldn't wish some of these nobs on Sunday league players.

Fans are paying good money to see the team they love disadvantaged by incompetent officiating... something that is completely out of the team's hands.

Poll's three yellow cards in the World Cup summed up the sorry state of our officials. Many bemoan the lack of respect shown and at grass roots level, where people are giving up their time for nothing or little more, then you see they have a point. When people are getting paid a good wage to undertake a job, then respect should be earned.

Lack of accountability..................

The UK is full of it from Wobble Gob Brown right throughout the system.
