Player Suggestion Reece james

He could even play up front. His body is unique for a footballer and the way he uses it is unstoppable.

'Unique' was my first thought when I first saw him but I didn't realise how good he was.
He is far and away the best player I've seen this season, Impressed me much more than grealish for example

Yes please, but if you can only have 2 loans despite being an improvement on some would we be better using a loan on a forward who is more necessary? I think so, so Tammy or kelechi would be really good

Fair point but I think we should move heaven and earth to sign this kid. One look at him and you can tell he fits our system down to the ground. If the only way we can get him is on loan, I'd still do it even if the other loan spot is already taken by Hendo. That's how good I think James is.

Another one of the best I've seen against us is Harry Wilson.

We could possibly get both these two if we sign Henderson permanently.

It would probably mean buying Hendo with a sell back clause and I would have no issue there, or losing Hendo which would be gutting but if it keeps us up, we have to do it. Because we need a premier league striker and there aren't many, and they aren't cheap.

You're right, buying Henderson would save us a lot of headaches in other areas this summer.

Mason Mount is the better player. He makes Derby fit and there is a huge difference when not playing. Unfortunately that has a knock on effect as we would have to buy James due to the 1 loan from each club rule.

He'd be the best "realistic" loan we could get I think. Not only he can play 3/4 positions, he plays them all with ease. I've seen other Premier League clubs such as Burnley linked with a loan move for him so would come down to where Chelsea think is his best fit for development and possibly who'd pay the largest loan fee if there wanting one.

Mason Holgate in addition to James on loan would be great as well.

We'd be absolutely nailing that right side of the team with those two. They could rotate effortlessly too.

Calum Chambers another option.

Basically, sign Henderson permanently if it's in any way possible.

Watched him at Wigan today - he was a class apart from everyone else on the pitch - I imagine a lot of teams will be interested in signing him but if we don’t at least enquire we would be missing a trick.

Played CM today and dominated, can pick a pass, lovely first touch, nobody got past him.

He’s got the lot - Chelsea wouldn’t let him go permanently but we should have a go at getting him on loan.

Chelsea let any player go if the price is right. That's their whole business model in a nutshell, stockpile youths, get them game time to increase their value potentially, then sell.

Let's not forget, this is a club that deemed the likes of De Bruyne surplus to requirements.

I identified in an earlier post that the 4 positions I think we need to upgrade upon for our starting XI are Baldock’s, Basham’s, Duffy’s and Sharp’s. Reece James would be a huge step in the right direction and I would move heaven & earth to bring him in if I was Wilder. He looks the perfect signing for us to improve our right hand side.

I actually think it's more likely we could land him on loan than he goes elsewhere for transfer...

there are maybe a handful of teams who would want him on loan (rather than transfer) in the Prem as it looks like most teams mentioned previously would see him as one for the future rather than a loan that can have an immediate impact this season.

Plus Chelsea are looking like they are banned from transfers, and he's looking like a top prospect, could add in some reluctance to sell permanently. I can't see why they wouldn't go for a prem loan where he'd be almost guaranteed 1st team football, rather than a transfer.

They'd be crackers to ship him out when they've missed the boat on so many youth prospects in the past (Lukaku, Salah etc.. etc...) plus a transfer ban.

I think we might actually be a shoe-in unless something silly comes in for him like a £30m Manure bid!

Would be close to me first choice target this summer. Can’t see any other player that offers as much defensive versatility as he does.

Think Chelsea might well loan him again but I think there are probably 4/5 PL sides that would look to take him and offer him first team football.

We're perfect for him, hopefully Chelsea realise that.

With the RCB and RWB positions (not to mention CM) there is ALWAYS going to be a place for him in the starting 11.

He's been up north for a season already so that's not a problem.

We also did well for Chelsea with Jamal Blackman.

With our obvious budget issues he’s ideal for us due to his ability to play so many positions, even midfield.

But I just fancy Chelsea might want to have another look at him. They’ve only got Zappacosta as cover for Azpi.

RCB and then moved into DM when we switch to a flat back 4.. oooof

He'd probably find his best position if he came to us, having the chance to play multiple positions at the top level.

He could go somewhere else and just play RB all season.

Tell Chelsea all these things, Wilder!

Think we did a good job with Blackman and it wouldn’t have gone unnoticed.

Seen James valued at approx £15 mil, somehow can't see Wilder pursuing this. Sure he'd love to, but come on.....

Loan.

Worth paying a decent loan fee this one if that's what it takes, up to £3m. He'd be an extremely valuable player for us.

If there's any possibility I'm certain we'll do all we can to get him.

Agree, a loan would make complete sense. Trouble is, the competition for his signature would be healthy. But ever hopeful, worth a punt.

He's playing for England at CB now in Toulon, on Free Sports.

I've not seen him at CB to be honest but he's playing for.his country there he must be pretty good.
He litterally sounds like the best option to cover 3 or 4 positions by a mile.
