Blades cup cracker ticket deal

Sheffield United season ticket holders will be able to watch the Blades highly anticipated third round FA Cup match with Premier League giants Aston Villa for just £12.

The club today announced a package of prices for the fixture which could see Gerard Houllier’s side fielding the likes of Stewart Downing, Ashley Young and Emile Heskey at Bramall lane.

Like United, Villa have a rich history in the FA Cup, having won it seven times in the past. This season the form of the Midlands club has been patchy and United fans are looking for their team to pull off a giant killing.

“We want to give every opportunity for our fans to turn out in numbers and get behind the lads for what promises to be a special FA Cup game,” said Operations Manager Emma Wylie.

Tickets are priced at £17 for adults with season ticket holders able to get £5 off the price. Concessions (under 18’s, students, over 60’s, disabled) will be able to get in for £10 and Under 16s for just £5.

Season ticket holders have until 7pm on Friday December 17 to claim their own seats. The Westfield Corner /188 Bet Upper Tier will be closed for this fixture unless sales dictate otherwise.

The game will be played on Saturday the 8th of January at 3.00pm. Tickets are on sale now from the ticket office or at www.sufc.co.uk. If a replay is required, that game will take place at Villa Park on Wednesday January 19, with a 7.45pm kick off.

Raul and Tunsy won't be happy with this, £17!!!!

Very happy with £12 myself. Good stuff, although spare us the highly anticipated and Heskey rubbish.

Au contraire Mic, already committed to coming down - Raulito's bast mate and Dad are Villa fans - so I'd have stumped up full whack on this one :hello:

And when a ST holding mate procures me a ticket on his behalf....I'll come and find you and show you my £12 ticket? Hows that for you?;)

nice one, going with some Villa mates so no doubt I will be getting hammered all the way home

What are the chances of this being moved to Saturday lunch-time? I think it could be one for the telly at that time maybe?

Fair enough, all potentially better ties than ours

Sorry, disagree with this. I can`t disagree with the picks from ESPN, but the picks of ITV are ratings chasing. They have picked 3 teams (ManUre, Arse & Lolerpool) who (up until this season at least) are on terrestrial telly more than any other due to the Come 4th and get in the back door League.

As a football fan, I would much rather watch Lower league team at home vs higher League team away, that a PL team vs PL team, or a PL team at home.

You can have mine.

OOps forgot quote first time. You can have mine.

Thank you your Lordship. I'll see you with the fundage next Saturday. I'll pm to arrange when and where, don't want Mic organising a Ticket Office swoop on us.

Unfortunately it's not the football fan that's targeted, it's the plastic sat in his armchair. Inevitably followers of the teams mentioned. I think we all know it's geared up that way nowadays.

I think other than arsenal v Leeds then these were the games they were always going to pick having now looked at the whole set of fixtures.

So we've come up with a pricing structure that should hopefully attract a good chunk of the ST holders to the game. Well done.

And for the floaters who we need to attract back to the Lane for the good of the future of the club...we have decided to make them pay £5 more. That should get them flocking back - flippin brilliant!

Villa isn't a fantastic draw but perhaps with a bit of imagination we could have used it to attract some non ST holders to a game.

Instead non ST holders just feel straight away that they are having to pay £5 extra to see the game when everyone else/the going rate is £12.

Though I do congratulate the club on moving in the right direction on the ridiculous price half ST deal they offered.

I hear that people who bought the flexi ticket are being phoned up to be offered £30 cashback (as the club had put a few offers on for some of the matches so far this season so they'd overpaid a bit) or they can have £45 off the price of a half ST.

It's too little too late but maybe just maybe they are learning some lessons so we can try and keep above 10,000 ST holders next season.

So ST holders shouldn't be thanked for their loyalty? I think £17 isn't bad for you part timers. :)

I fully and heartily endorse the principle of ensuring STH's are given preferential treatment wherever possible. It's right and proper afaic. Especially ones not going to the Villa game....

Dear Trevor

I would like to say first what a fantastic job you are doing. I admire you greatly and have no idea where SUFC would be without your vision and organisation.

May I add that this deal for the Villa game is open to abuse and please can you do all within your powers to ensure that a 'Blade' called Raul pays £17 to get in?'

I look forward to your reply.

A loyal ST holder.

You should thank your lucky stars that he's not crawling under the turn stile like he normally does and is prepared to give me £12 for my ticket as unfortunately due to being in Sydney for the test match, I shall be unlucky enough not to watch us getting slaughtered by Villa. :)

do we know if villa rejected any plans to make the prices lower? if not, a tenner and a fiver everywhere would have probably meant a decent attendance and a cup atmosphere. There won't be many non ST holders jamming the phonelines at 17 a pop for a competition that has lost a fair bit of its attraction

Methinks £10 for season tkt holders and £15 for the floating supporters would have been better. Got 12,000 written all over it.

Times must be hard if £2 makes such a difference. This is a good offer and if we get 12000 the club might as well give up and make every game £34. Villa will bring at least 6000 so i'm expecting over 20000.

How many season ticket holders do we have?
If you think about CB's comment about them bringing 6000 then them stumping up £17 instead of £10 then it makes good sence.

Over 20,000 to see Villa reserves beat a clueless united? Not a cat in hells chance.
