Just been watching the highlights, I agree the force used was OTT but the ref sent him off for it being 'too high'. I've seen many worse...

Its not his foot thats the issue - its the angle he's coming in at compared to the pitch.

If he makes the same challenge with his arse 3 inches off the ground instead of 12-15 its probably a yellow - as it was his trailing leg and the ret of his body went through the man at shin to thigh height.

Should be fined maximum he can. What a first impression for the new fans. Wilder should make no excuses.
Made me chuckle when a couple of our players still went over to remonstrate with the ref, like he’d been harshly treated! It was an awful challenge that could have caused a bad injury to their player and killed any momentum we had built up.

As spectacular red cards go, I still think Charlie Goode’s takes some beating!

4 red cards in the last few games have cost us points.Wilder has to get through to his players that these refs are looking for any excuse to give us one or two
In the Harry Bassett days there was a very postitive attitude of
"Everybody hates us but we don't care"
Not for dirty play
But for our route one "Gerrit in the mixer" style.
These days it's
"All the refs hate us"
But we DO need to care.
CW needs to drum your message into our players and hope they're intelligent enough to act accordingly.
Certainly no red cards for crazy fouls in the middle of the pitch when there's no immediate threat ,
Like Tanganga & Rothwell.
Or daft arguing & then diving like Bamford.

If that's on the other side of the pitch it's probably a yellow. The 4th official refs the game from the sideline and it was right in front of him.

I think Seriki going to the deck every opportunity, not only got comment from Sky v Oxford but refs mark his card for it so less likely to get a free kick even if a foul.
