Recruitment has killed us

Phipps is a sound guy, but got too involved with fans last time. Everyone wants a bit of insider info.... but should keep some of this to himself.

We are now reaping the rewards of the last minute "panic buy" recruit someone/anyone mentality of the last transfer window. The only Silver lining is that we can dump them all back to their parent clubs (with the exception of MGW, who will probably be recalled anyway) on the 1st January!

Unfortunately they really aren't any worse than our previous windows so it's hard to apportion blame to them.

Olsen bad start, Ramsdale had a bad start too, not saying Olsen will come good though because he quite clearly doesn't give a toss.

Hourihane and Geudioura, not doing anything, but Fleck and Norwood don't do much either.

Davies, better than other options we have like Robinson.

Shame there are no parent clubs to take Stevens, Egan, RND, Brewster, McBurnie, Berge, Mousset etc who've been letting us down for months getting on for years for some of them.

Our recruitment after the 18/19 season has been an absolute shambles.

I'd say Olsen is worth persisting with for the time being. I think he'd be ok in front of a solid defence. He's obviously a good pedigree but there's a question mark over whether he wants to be here. If not, try and send back.

Davies is better than Basham, imo, but neither are good in a 2. I do think Davies and Egan would be an adequate pairing behind a good DM. Its really hard to judge them behind The Krankies. I think the best defenders in the world would struggle.

I can only assume Hourihane had little or nothing to do with Slav. I hope we can send him back as he look like a stretch Dean Hammond

I doubt Wolves will want Gibbs-White back to be honest. He's frustrated the last few games going forward and drifts in and out of the game. The defensive side of his play is non-existent as well. Can get away with that in this division but not the EPL.

Thing is, and I keep repeating this, if we sing no one permanently then we start next season with the same squad minus Sharp (starter), Osborn (Starter), Mousset (second choice striker), Basham (reserve CB), Robinson (Cover CB) and Slater.
