...the lane.

Memories came flooding back earlier when a record came on "montego bay" my first proper match at the lane.

Leeds 78 league cup.

Anyone else got one that sticks in the grey matter?

Also, anyone old enough to know when records started being played at the lane?

When I first started in the early eighties I remember Sinclair used to play the current chart records but now he just seems to go through the same 'nostalgia' playlist every game. I could be wrong because when I was a kid me and my mate used to meet at about 2.00-2.15 at the back of the kop to take in the atmosphere so heard a lot more.
Then obviously went through the 'one quick'un before we go in' stage so rarely heard owt.
Now it just seems like those two house tunes, United etc.

Was the Lynn Anderson song played up into the eighties? Or did I just dream I heard it in the eighties?

Gary Sinclair still pops it on every now and again these days, Highfield. Usually after a particularly good win.

Let's hope we hear it a lot over the next few months, eh?:)

And yes, it's pretty much been on the Bramall Lane playlist since it's release.

Thanks for that. Brought back memories. Had forgotten about that. Barry Blue. Counterpoint Bass. One of the best Bass lines ever IMHO because it was so simple yet so necessary for the song.
