I've got no idea what our record is like, but having seen Blackpool lift their game since relegation, how will We/Yeovil approach the game on Tuesday?

After losing 5-0 at Spurs in March 1976 we were mathematically relegated after winning only 2 league matches so far. Our last 6 games were

Norwich 1 Blades 3
Blades 3 West Ham 2
L**ds 0 Blades 1
Middlesbrough 3 Blades 0
Blades 1 Newcastle 0
Blades 1 Birmingham 1

I thought after our impressive form in April, we would be certs to get promotion in the following season!

The Yeovil players have got a new boss to impress, and I'm sure there must be a few playing for contracts.

This is no gimme.

0-5 :D

very simple to answer:

Play like 1st half at Oldham - we would lose to a Sheffield Sunday League team

Play like 2nd half - we should fear absolutely no one in the league and would walk, yes, walk the play offs.

Not there today. And whilst I await match reports, that tells me what I need to know, thank you Fulwood!

We actually had a couple of chances in the fist half and Mcnuts had an angled one on one, that their keeper did very well with.

tbh - the pitch had lots of grass on it, but it seemed like it was on top of concrete - ball really difficult to control (for both teams), with a really tricky wind, but our midfield just weren't on their game at all and we seemed to get no second balls.

We move on - 8 unbeaten away from home - make it 9 on Tuesday and who ever we get in the PO, won't like the fact that we are resilient (over 90 minutes) away from home.

You are being very generous with McNulty there,he hit it straight at the keeper when he should have done better. Same with a chance 10 mins earlier when he dithered instead of getting a shot away

Whilst we weren't great in the 1st half we weren't as bad as some are making out. Errors from Bash and Howard gave them their goals otherwise, apart from a chance early in the 2nd half Oldham didn't really create anything themselves.

Our problem was down to not being able to hold the ball up front and the central midfield not tackling in the first half.

Pitch was really poor - though it didn't look like it superficially - stopped us passing and running with the ball.

McNulty's first chance I think they just crowded him out he tried to square it but the moment had gone. The one their keeper stopped at the near post - maybe he took it too far in, tried sthg cute maybe. He'd score 7 or 8 out of 10 of those. This was one of the 2 or 3.

We were right behind and in line with keeper and Mcnuts and I just thought with being on an angle, the keeper didn't give mcnuts anything to aim at.

Will reserve judgment until have seen the TV footage.

Wasn't it TK's error for 1st goal? Bash played on the right of defence and TK on the left? and was sure it was TK that fell or slipped - could be wrong. Again not sure until the TV replay.

I am sure he will start on Tuesday and bury a couple of chances. His hold up play has got to improve thou

I remember that sequence of results - and the ones that went before. First season I had a season ticket.

I always relate this as...
  • Next season was our lowest ever league position 12th in Division 2,
  • So was the season after that (relegated)
  • and the season after that (Division 3)
  • and the season after that (relegated)
  • and the season after that (Division 4)
based on record books, annuals etc I read as a kid, but I've never really checked.
