I believe we have 4 very winnable games coming up. Starting this Saturday against a v poor Plymouth side, The only tricky one is Palace away however we did make short work of them back in December. QPR in free fall and blackpool starting to show how poor they are. A minimum of 10 point out of those 4 i'd say may put us back in the playoffs and i would of thought Peterborough should be rearranged around those games or just after.

I appreciate the attept at injecting optimism but even a 10-12 point haul in these games would prove nothing. We need to be beating the top 6 sides for anyone to take us seriously again - including me.

Indeed we do.

However, as we aren't playing any of them we have to do what we are OK at and that is beat the cannon fodder.
Without the forthcoming wins, if that's what they will be, the games still to come against top sixers will be meaningless anyway.

since a shocking performance at Wendy they got a draw at Preston (which we couldn't) and then two consecutive home wins against Boro and Reading without conceding a goal. Prior to that, they murdered Leicester at home and dominated WBA and were very unlucky to lose both games.

Worrying one for me :(

You're clearly a half-empty-glass man.

In this crazy league a win is a win is a win....

Considering we've taken 4 pts from the last 18 and are still a win away from the play-offs tells you all you need to know about this league.

As much as it pains me to say it, I really hope we don't make the play-offs and that the season just drifts to a finish and we can complete the rest of the clear-out and re-build properly in the summer.

Not really. I turn up on saturdays with a smile and get behind the lads. I love my football, but i'm sensible enough to realise that what is being served up could and should be a lot better than what we're getting.

If you want to be a promotion challenging side you have to prove it against the sides above and around you. The up-coming games, yes need to be won but they wont prove anything or fill me with any more optimism if we do win them. This is because the sides we are playing are average to poor.

My glass is never either half full, or half empty. I just call it how I see it.

Hail the most sensible post ive read for about 3 weeks!

Blackpool are average and we are a home a game we SHOULD be winning.

True but you have to say there are still 2 places up for grabs in the playoffs the ones currently occupied by Swansea and Leicester. I only say that because i believe they are the weaker of the 4 sides in there at the moment. Swansea might be 4th but not sure if they will bottle it, something Cardiff are also capable of doing.

The most sensible post? Come on Jim. Even if you lose the play-off finals it's worth millions. Money that we desperately need. Once there, you have a 50-50 chance of hitting the Premiership jackpot.

Why on earth would you HOPE that we fail to make the play-offs, finish the season on a massive downer and have much less money to "rebuild"?

How boring would that be Jim? And what are the chances of us re-building properly?

Much better to get into the playoffs and have our hopes dashed again.

February was the most winnable month and so far we have made a shambles out of it.
We have a great deal to do to get into the play offs.

If Blackpool are average what are we given we're below them in the League and they've already thrashed us once this season ?
Blackpool are an average side, We are also average side thats why they thrashed us. Bristol City are another average side you disagreed then and we took 6 points off them.

I agree we did but the next 3 out of 4 games are at home. I don't expect us to get in the playoffs and stay in the playoffs, i just think after the next 4 games we should be back in the mix.

I genuinely hope you're right David. But after seeing the league table following Leicester's win last night, a playoff place is looking increasingly more unlikely. The fact that the closest team is Cardiff and they are 4 points clear with a game in hand, just makes my heart sink.

We're not out of it yet but we're well off the pace and I don't think our form is either good enough; or theirs bad enough for us to overhaul the deficit. If i'm honest I think one place is up for grabs now and that team has a strong hold on it.

Six points behind with a game in hand if/when they go into administration ;)

If we're relying on other teams going into administration to get in the top 6 I don't want to be there!

While we were selling Naughton and Walker in the Summer to help pay the bills, Cardiff were spending £4M on Chopra and running up a £2.7M unpaid tax bill.

They had the opportunity to sell the likes of Chopra, Ledley, McCormack or Whittingham in January so they could settle their debts but they chose not to do so.

I have absolutely no qualms about overtaking a team who are deducted points for effectively trying to buy promotion with the taxpayers money.

You are spot on mate
The fact that we have been so poor this season and are still in touching distance of the playoffs tells us that this Division is piss poor this year.
Anybody with a degree of consistency would have run away with the championship this year.
