Ah well, earlier in the week some of us were pilloried for being too negative. Well, well I said I would swap Weds position for ours because they are performing better. Apparently Tranmere were not resurgent and the Pigs were hopeless away.

Well the realists are being proved right. At the moment Weds will be out of sight at the end of the season predicted total of points for the Pigs is 90 and United it is 80.

Without McDonald looks like we're powder puff.

Time for a drink and look forward to another round of play-off enjoyment!

Total shit.

Wednesday can and will take 2nd place.

Oops projected points should be Utd 82 Pigs 90.

New chant eh Bladesman "We're blowing up, we're blowing, Blades are blowing up".

Its called black humour.

No need to panic they said. Back to normal on Saturday they said. We're still 2 points clear they said. 4 points from 2 away games they said.

We ARE going to throw this away. Don't think I can take the play offs again.

Ah yes it's the Kabba Syndrome again.

The longer somebody is injured the better player they become.

What is this garbage? Plenty of people said before he was injured that if we lost him it'd be a killer blow. Plenty of people said when he was injured that it could mean us scuppered. And sure enough, our form has collapsed without him. There's nothing revisionist about it. Since he was injured we've won 2, lost 3 and drawn 2. Before he was injured we were in promotion form, because obviously we were in the top two. That people can still doubt his effectiveness is astounding.

It's getting very tough now. To me though, it might not be a case of bottling, more of coasting. In our last four home games, we have won when we've gone behind first (Preston, Scunthorpe) and dropped points when we've been ahead (Oldham, Tranmere). In a sense that's ecouraging, it's throwing away the points we seem to be on for that's killing us at the moment.

Still, onwards and (hopefully) upwards.

What's with all the projected points bollocks?

You can't pick and choose matches. Wednesday are on a good run that's all.

Just think back to our form before the derby.

i would,nt call it play-off enjoyment.....more like same shit different day syndrome

Glad I came on here tonight. Off to slit my wrists because 2nd place in the table just doesn't cut it any more.

The reality is that the top two teams at the end of he season will get automatic promotion and the next four will play off for one place.. Where will the blades be, I ain't got a clue, but the table doesnt lie at the end of the season. You finish where you deserve to finish. Let's wait and see.

we are getting a bit too close here ,but that is exactly what i was thinking. Will you marry me :)

You'd make a lovely couple but I can see the travelling being a problem.

Prediction (noun)

A forecast, a guess, a wild stab in the dark.

Fortune telling is "prediction". Would you willingly gamble all your money on a prediction? Every last penny?

Sell your house and everything you own, and put every last penny on Wednesday winning automatic promotion if you're that confident United will fuck it up.

You may as well consult one of those "end-of-the-pier" gypsy fortune tellers. United to fuck it up, and you'll be wealthy, healthy, and meet a tall, dark and handsome stranger who'll whisk you away from your humdrum life as a poor scullery maid to live in his castle, and eat posh food like quail's eggs, caviar and Sheffield fishcakes.

Predictions are guesses. They may well be educated guesses rather that just picking names out of a hat, but then again, the weather forecast is a prediction based on known information and that's not always 100% accurate, is it?

County 0 Blades 2
Pigs 0 Warsar 1
Chesterfield 2 Huddersfield 1
Orient 2 Pigs 1
Huddersfield 1 Charlton 1

Means we go into Chessy game which if we win puts us 6 clear, 7 to play.

Easy.

Total shit.

Wednesday can and will take 2nd place.

Can I book you for a motivational seminar we have coming up
We at the samaritans need your enthusiatic drive and optimism to help those in doubt

Yes we are still second, will we be saying that on tuesday night?

definitely at 1945
possibly at 2210
why anyway does the season end on tuesday night

glad you all think wednesday will piss all over colchester and huddersfield away, not even some owls think that but you help them along

9 games to go
one fifth of a season
we are 2nd after 4/5ths

just think what that means, does it mean if we dont win 5 on the trot all the time we are suddenly crap err no
Charlton apart no team , thats no team has bettered us so far

so why are some of our fans being such fucking idiots over a couple of results,
Wednesday won a few , wow whoop de do so lets all press the panic button and buy tenna men pants

Lets get a grip and man up , instead of acting like 12 year olds
oooo theyre doing better than us for a few games , I want me mam

I am very disapointed with yesterdays results but hey, were still second. Will we be Tuesday? Probably not, but there are plenty more twists and turns to come.

I do often think things were easier and a lot less frought before someone dreamed up the internet football forum. Theres a bloke lying in a hospital bed critically ill having collapsed on the field of play yesterday. I wonder how seriously he takes football at this moment in time?

Time to chill and let the season take its course. We are good enough to finish second but there are a shedload of variables that could change that. Some in our control, most not. One thing I can't see any sense in doing is doom mongering and telling anyone who would listen that by some cosmic flash of brilliance akin to that of Russel Grant you could see this coming all along.

There are problems, the biggest one being we fell into League One in the first place, hence all the others such as the quality of players we have, depth of squad etc. Thats all a given and while some may take great strength from pointing at the sky and telling everyone its falling in, perhaps now more than ever is the time for calm heads. Thank god our Manager is one who has that.

that is a great post a real rose amongst the thorns although I suspect some of the posters since yesterday's 1-1 defeat to be sleeper cells from porktalk
