Ref did nowt wrong it's our cone like players that are 100% to blame

I don't know why we are surprised. After every bad offical I think "well it can't get any worse than that!" and of course, up pops this bloke today to prove me wrong, an absolute rank amateur, shocking is too mild a word.

Ref did nowt wrong it's our cone like players that are 100% to blame

Final few minutes, Che gets taken down in front of the Ref, nothing happens, gets back to his feet, goes in for the ball, their powder-puff player goes down, ref gives a free kick, same player gets back to his feet and takes a swing at Che, in front of the ref, ref does nothing.

He was garbage pal, a closet Millwall fan by the looks of it.

Crap ref - not even booking the lad at the end who shoved Che was bizarrely complacent. And guy who flew into a challenge from miles out and missed everything was lucky too.

But if the ref is letting the physical stuff go then you have to match what your opponents are doing. Millwall shoved and nudged us all over - they weren't dirty but kept it within what the ref deemed acceptable.

Same old problems for us - lack of physical strength and height. To put them off their work we had to foul more blatantly so the ref picked up on it.

Seems Adkins blames the ref for today. I think our issues go much deeper than the ref today but I am surprised that he was allowed to ref our game today and Wedesdays game mid week considering he is from Hammersmith

Didn't hear anything, other than the CE incident, on the BM commentary that we could use the referee as an excuse for losing. Thought the one shot on target could be a reason but all about opinions.

Millwall were physical pushing, pulling and nudging our players even before the ball got to them and the ref let them get away with it. They can see the ref is weak so can we so why don't we do the same and rough their players up, we never win our individual battles and are easy to play against shit teams know all they have to do is sit back and rough us up and wait till our defence fook up

I think mainly because the ref let them get away with stuff and blew his whistle when we tried it.

Football is a contact sport and if we cant handle the physical part of the game we are in serious trouble IMO

I'd just like to be the first to mention one of theirs having a kick at Freeman after the ball was out for a throw, then being dissatisfied with the contact he'd made with his kick went for a two handed shove which was much more effective leaving Freeman in a heap.

Ref watched the whole thing and had a little smile to himself.

I have a theory that there is a secret annual contest for worst refereeing performance at Bramall Lane, and the majority of refs take it very, very seriously.

Refs not to blame for out current position the players are

He's wasn't to blame but he was shocking.

Still working out how the referee AND linesman gave them that goal kick instead of corner near the end.

For me he set a new standard for godawful officiating at the lane. Completely agree with the Adkins interview.

He was poor but United have to become physical and fight fir with fire. We have had 5 seasons of many teams being more physical, we have had 5 years of rubbish refs who don't penalise it. It is right? No. So we have to change and become wiser ourselves.

The ref did not score two goals and the ref was not at fault for us having one shot on target at home.

Sick of different excuses to be honest. He wasn't great but so what; win the game and then have a moan after the game when you win. He missed bad ones both ways and many seem to have red and white spectacles on. My biggest gripe was him not cottoning onto the time wasting till late.

He wasn't that good for them either. That South Stand side Lino was just as bad, some of the strangling of Sharp and Adams was bang in front of him. He didn't seem to be able to lift his left arm at all, I worried he might have had a stroke at one point.

Very poor ref who seemed to be carrying some history with Sharp - Sharp wasn't going to get a decision from the off it looked like. Ok we are at home and we will see things through white with red pinstriped glasses, but some of the decisions were awful and his sanctions against offenders unbelievably soft. The niggling pushes on our players when about to receive the ball was a constant feature as was the timewasting and Willmall's collapsing in a heap looking for a freekick (which they got more often than not).

Really needs looking into. Technically he was born in Tyne and Wear which is probably why he gets to officiate these games but it's blatantly obvious to Sheffield football supporters that he has a tendency to favour teams closer to "home"....... Much much closer to home....... Frankly too close

Also a special mention to the lino's for being equally as bad. Both looked scared to make decisions for the referee, I remember atleast twice he blew for fouls without the lino's flagging for them

I think he is currently based in Sunderland but was born in London. There is an interview with him somewhere where it says he "began refereeing in his native London"

I'm not saying he was bent but it's odd that he has had two London clubs this week

Maybe my mistake Roy but in the space of a couple of days he and the football league have left themselves wide open to be questioned. I don't believe he cost us the game but when certain things are blatantly ignored or given to the "London" side when quite clearly they shouldn't be is staggering. The final few minutes fracas in the centre circle summed him up perfectly

People are bound to question these things when the ref performs like he does today. I imagine he is just a terrible ref though to be honest

From someone who reffed for 15 years where do I mark simply crap? About as constructive as I could get.
