Simon Moore will be our number 1 for a very long time. If we get a half decent fee for Ramsdale I'd let him go.

In a few years time Ramsdale might wish he stayed with us. Time will tell
hmmm contract up in summer i didnt know that either slightly concerning that we havent tied him to a new contract maybe the fact we signed moore is tempting him to look elswhere

Let's be honest he's going isn't he ? It's not like he's getting game time here and if his contract is up this summer the signing on fee alone will set him up for life.

If he didn't want to sign a new deal last summer I think it's highly likely he'll be on the move. Prepare yourselves for that. Good luck to him if so but I'd question whether being a bigger fish in a smaller pond is a better route for him at his age. The gestation period for a keeper is a long one. Even at 25 you've got 10 years left. Then again it's a huge lump of cash as a salary, likely to be on par with our best first teamers and better facilities. But with that comes fewer opportunities.

Difficult one but I'm relaxed as we've got a top drawer keeper.

Don't beleave his contract is up this summer but would be a good idea to offer him another improved one,if he won't sign that then the writings on the wall.I think he is quite happy at present but his handlers ( his agent and dad ) might think differently they may see £ signs and want to cash in.Hopefully he will be here for a few years yet.Best prospect I've seen in my time watching the blades. Wached Hodgy in his prime but he came through the system in the 50s and I was a nipper myself then ,but he is the best of all to come through since,in my opinion of course.

Am sure Wilder and probably Knill and Binnon will decide on how much we will sell him for and get the best fee possible. I am 100% behind them

Don't you think we undersell our young talent, as in too cheaply? Also, how on earth is Lookman (?) worth £11m?

If he is out of contract then blame the previous regime for only offering a 1yr Pro deal anyone who watched him last year will realise this lad will go right to the very top. And deservedly so you will not meet a more genuine likeable lad

You're right, 8 million it is then

Ramsdale is only 18 and hasnt played in a league game yet. Lookman has already played 45 1st team games (some in the Championship division). Most keepers make their 1st team debut after they are 20. Why did Bolton's Academy release him three years ago? Got fed up of Ramsdale's advisers or they didnt think he had a future? To me he looks quite good and did well against Orient and it is hard to tell if he will play in the Premiership in a few years time

Please leave it to Wilder to decide

Didnt know the reason for Bolton's decision, thanks. Dont you think Ramsdale and his advisers should be grateful to us for rescuing his career and that his profile has increased in the last few years? If I was his dad I would advise him to sign the contract we offered him

The thing is Silent that you maybe right but chances to get to a premier league side are normally taken when on offer.

Its just difficult to watch our young players take off before we get a chance to fully nourish them......

If we are in the Championship i hope we hold on to these lads longer, or at least sell them at the current market value.

If it were my kid I'd tell him to sign a big contract with Arsenal if they chucked me a new car in. Decent one too.

its just how it is

top prem clubs can risk 4 or 5 million on a young development player
we get them raw and for free
we dont have millions , but if we can get in money this way we will and should
its terrific business, its why we had an academy , to develop players to use or sell

some weve used , some weve sold, that was the idea

in the last 10 years weve probably had 150 lads through the academy
weve probably sold 20 of them in 10 years, at most

Money talks these days and you really can't blame the lad if he gets a big offer.

Good luck to him where ever his path takes him.

If I was him I'd be looking at Moore and thinking 'won't be shifting him out in a hurry', then look at Long and think 'don't want to end up like him'.

What is your verdict on him btw? Potential to cut it in the prem?

If he were to play first team football right now, what level would suit him best?

In my humble opinion he should be playing L2 week in week out or for a Premier League sides 23s.

He is just not playing enough football. Would love to know what CW plans are for Ramsdales development .

Oh..... and i am not his dad !!

No point sending him out on loan if he's out of contract at the end of the season and likely to leave. I'd cash in now if there are any offers on the table. Move on and give some other kid a chance.

To be honest Bush i was just taking his ability into where i see him playing at present.

With the contract up at the end of the season, if he ain't going to sign a new one then we should let him go............

Ramsdale got fed up of waiting for Bolton to make a decision thats why he left he asked to be released. Bolton said he was too small and couldnt kick the ball far enough. He had no advisors and his family didnt speak to Bolton about him until they kept delaying their decision.

Well his kicking ain't a problem now !!

Best kicker of a ball i have seen in any keeper for a long long time. What ever his reason for leaving Bolton it really is none of anyones business but his and his families. IMO. All turned out for the best.

I am not his dad.

No if you were his dad you would advise him to keep his head down and work hard and ask the management if he could play more games in u23's, or go out on loan.

Both comments are spot on Albi, except i am not from Stoke.....

It really is a strange situation to be in for the lad.
