Larky you are so right!!
I bet there were plenty of premiership clubs watching him at Bolton,I said a year ago onthis site ( Ramsdale is the best keeper we have brought through since Hodgys and he also was 18 when he made his debut) how do we keep such a talent while in this division,.He and Jordan Pickford are going to be in competition for rhe full England jersey, two outstanding keepers

From what I know he was released from Bolton. That said I think any youth team watchers will agree that it was only in his second year as a scholar that it all seemed to click for him.
I can't see how we can keep him as a reserve.
He needs to be playing games week in week out. Although some excellent keepers have been 1st team back up until their mid twenties.

Finlay, don't big him up too much, you will get accused of being his bloody dad !!!!!

Ramsdale has got a long way to go he's got establish himself with the mesters not with kids.
Great goalkeepers will be remembered for mastering the basics, good handling, gaffering the 6yd, organising his defenders.
Ogrizavic was a prime example nothing flash but got the basics right played all his games at the top level and a lot of them.

I've not seen Ramsdale other than on Sunday, so can't comment on his potential, but haven't both Long and George Willis been in the England set up relatively recently, and been highly rated, but then not progressed, suggesting maybe it's a little early to get excited about Ramsdale.

I can't see Ramsdale ousting Moore before the end of the season so his (AR's) best bet would probably be a loan move. Trouble is, which side is going to take a punt on an 18 year old goalkeeper? It's a nice headache to have: Moore came here to be first choice but Ramsdale will replace him if he continues to improve at the rate he currently is.

I strongly feel we were right to sell Adams

Couldn't agree more.

An undoubted talent on his day but a lazy twat with no positional awareness. Does anyone seriously think he could be part of the current high tempo pressing game? He'd be wandering around the centre circle looking lost for most of the game.

If he'd stayed he it would only have been as an impact sub. He just isn't cut out for a fast pass and move game.

Yes Ramsdale has a long way to go to be a top keeper but he is on a different level to Long &Willis many things can derail him but the talent and attitude is there and I expect him
to goal all the way.
No way at this stage is he going to replace Moore but loaning him out in the window will go a long way to keeping him happy, as long as he
doesn't go for the money, that will come in due course.

He has got a long way to go. I can't think of many 18 year old's that have become an instant hit. Maybe Piggy Turner, Joe Hart, Shilton. Most of them get stuck in the team as an emergency and then come back when they are ready. I always thought George wouldn't be able to handle it as he was brought in too young and what is more, despite his height, looked too young. Ramsdale looks completely different. He's having a natter with team mates as he's playing. Confident lad. However, confidence doesn't help you when you are physically mixing it in the 6 yard box. Just don't let it get knocked out of him by playing him too early. Moore should be first choice. Ramsdale is a hell of a prospect but needs time IMHO.

Keepers tend to have a longer career, so no need to rush the lad, if we don't need to. Only seen him a couple of times and he looked good.

Ramsdale wont go out on loan CW has said that.

National League 1 would be a good place for him to go on loan mix it up a bit with some old pros.

Good young quality English keeper....yep hes for sale. Let the bidding start at 10m (fuk all in the general scheme of things to prem clubs). If they dont like it tell em to go f**k themselves. Fed up of our kids getting cherry picked before theyve even had a chance. By all means sell if the price is right but lets start asking silly money / the going rate for good quality english players with loads of potential.

i certainly wouldnt sell rammy top prospect and if we do lets put a high price on him like charlton have with lookman but keep him and were back to having 2 top goalkeepers vying for a place in the first team and thats what we will need next season in the championship

If we do sell, it should be for a fee that allows us to cherry pick one or more of the top young lower league prospects.

For a keeper is there really any point in going at this stage in your career?

He's an injury to Moore away from starting regularly.

If he moves he's gonna be third choice at best - don't really see the point in moving before getting established here. He'll end up going out on loan in a few years and wont really be anywhere near a first team

Whack a huge fee on him and then see who's interested

Depends on how much we will get for him. Say we get £2m, that will see us sign Bogle which would be much more use to us right now. And we will always have George Long to fall back on, Iv'e heard he's a promising young keeper.

:( Is there a "smiley" for "fucking worried by that last sentence"?

I don't know the state of the clubs finances, but somewhere along the way we have to stop letting our best prospects walk out for relatively fk all

Young Lookman's just been sold in a deal worth up to £10m of which the majority is reportedly up front

We have to stop clubs walking in and having our pants down

Yes, bla bla bla about not holding the player back, but no, not on the buyers terms, our fkin terms. We don't have to sell so put up or shut up (and fk off anall)

Keepers dont command the same kind of fee as for midfielders and strikers
Keepers always was a key position there's some right rubbish around at the moment especially from abroad when you look at the current England No1 it says it all.

Am sure Wilder and probably Knill and Binnon will decide on how much we will sell him for and get the best fee possible. I am 100% behind them

He's out of contract in the summer. It's very disappointing how that has been allowed to happen. Can we not tie him down to a new contract now? If we can't then we should sell him now if we can get anything half decent.

As he is under 24 we can still command a fee when his contract runs out. Not Wilder's fault that Ramsdale didnt sign a contract

Anyone think this more likely to happen in the Summer? His fee will will then contribute to the "war chest" provided we go up

He's surely needed as the most crucial period of the season approaches. It would be foolish to allow him to leave in Jan imo

It is clear that Premier League clubs are cherry picking lower league players that seem to play or are around the England Youth set up.

Ramsdale does not play enough competitive games for us. 2 cup games and maybe 4 at the most for the 23s.

Lets not beat about the bush, if a big club comes knocking with a tidy contract worth 6 times what he is on and for a few years longer why the hell would he not want to go? He certainly is not getting regular game time with the first team or the 23s.

If an Everton came in he would play 23s and then be in line for a championship loan move. All a alot more than he is getting with us.

Dont expect too much because i am informed he is out of contract this Summer, plus he has only been with us 3 years so the academy compensation would be worth a curly wurly and a packet of tooty friuties.

In a few years time Ramsdale might wish he stayed with us. Time will tell
