Just got back from Bury. Thoroughly professional performance. Clinical in front of goal and solid at the back. Second half we tore them apart with ease and look really commanding. They rarely troubled us.
First half was a bit frustrating, but I thought if we remained patient we would get our chance. 2nd half we stepped up a gear and they had no answer. The result probably flattered us slightly, but we took our chances and Simmo had little to do.
Collins was fantastic again and the back 4 was rock solid. JFL made two goal saving tackles and we have him to thank. The 2nd was at one nil and he blocked a certain goal with a brilliant last ditch tackle. Doyle allowed the excellent McDonald to run the game. McDonald was by far the best player on the pitch and completely controlled the game. His skill, composure and vision led to a brilliant through ball to Cresswell for the opener. Williamson, Quinn and Lowton are a class above this division. Evans and Cresswell put proper shifts in and deservef their goals.
All in all it was a good team performance and a good day. We're set up for a cracker next week. I know Deadbat was there, so I'll add my thoughts to his match report on my train journey back to London tomorrow.
All that is to say is thanks Danny. Loving watching United at the moment. I will be raising my glass to Mr Wilson tonight. I found some proper football today and now I am off to wash it down with some real ale
