Just got back from Bury. Thoroughly professional performance. Clinical in front of goal and solid at the back. Second half we tore them apart with ease and look really commanding. They rarely troubled us.

First half was a bit frustrating, but I thought if we remained patient we would get our chance. 2nd half we stepped up a gear and they had no answer. The result probably flattered us slightly, but we took our chances and Simmo had little to do.

Collins was fantastic again and the back 4 was rock solid. JFL made two goal saving tackles and we have him to thank. The 2nd was at one nil and he blocked a certain goal with a brilliant last ditch tackle. Doyle allowed the excellent McDonald to run the game. McDonald was by far the best player on the pitch and completely controlled the game. His skill, composure and vision led to a brilliant through ball to Cresswell for the opener. Williamson, Quinn and Lowton are a class above this division. Evans and Cresswell put proper shifts in and deservef their goals.

All in all it was a good team performance and a good day. We're set up for a cracker next week. I know Deadbat was there, so I'll add my thoughts to his match report on my train journey back to London tomorrow.

All that is to say is thanks Danny. Loving watching United at the moment. I will be raising my glass to Mr Wilson tonight. I found some proper football today and now I am off to wash it down with some real ale :)

Agree with you re Macca but Williamson once again was excellant. It's very rare that Willo's 1st touch isn't spot on(Ched could learn from this) and his movement into space is superb.

Good performance today and sets us up for next week.

39 more points and we should win promotion....doesn't matter who we get them off and looking at our last 14 games,if we are in the top 3 at the end of February we will give ourselves an excellant chance

Did you hear that idiot on Radio Sheffield, going on about France?!

Olli, foxy pointed you out to me today but in all the excitement didn't get chance to say hello, nice to have a face to the post though.

That's exactly what I thought! Oliver he was called.

If it was him, he's gone up in my estimation today for two reasons. Firstly, he sounded normal and articulate, not something I'd generally accuse him of and easily able to cope with the idiot presenter. Secondly, because he saw the game as I did (ie right), MacDonald was outstanding and the whole thing was a pleasure to watch, though it was bloody cold.

I've raised a glass or two already.

Raising my third as I write. Night is yet young.

Were you on RS again, mate? Missed it.

However, a bloke called Olle from London has just walked off Take Me Out without a date. Should we be told?

Seriously, I'm a very proud Blade at the moment. Listened to the RS commentary today. Unprecedented to hear strings of United player names, one after the other, throughout the game.

It's coming Home! ⚽⚽⚽

Sounded brilliant, really gutted I couldn't be there. Sounded like we've finally learnt to win games in style and to dominate teams.

One thing I said after we beat bury 4-0 at home was that we were professional and organised. We lost our way a little but it Sounds like we're back and better than before. Stepping it up a gear when it matters.

Time to push on, time to keep this group together going into a very tough period of games.

Sure we'll pick up knocks, we'll need to adapt our game some times, but we have the squad to cover things.

RS really praised Macca today.

Not getting carried away too much, but I agree that Wilson deserves his praise. He's pulled it round exactly how he should do, so well done to him and his team. BT and Porter coming off the bench must scare the shit out of teams after being run ragged by cressy and ched, they get two completely different goal threats to deal with.

I'm buzzing, so can only imagine how those that went to the game must be feeling.

I'll eat my humble pie over Wilson when we're doing this in the Championship, that can wait.

Onwards to Charlton. Trying to convince the missus that I should hop on a flight to London on sat morning for this one...

Sadly I missed the idiot harping on about France but wish I'd heard it. Really enjoyed today. Made a couple of new Blade mates. Enjoyed watching so many fans clearly loving the Blades. Loved taking over their ground in a friendly way.

On the pitch I thought we played well first half and knocked it about really well but lacked a clear chance. I agree with Olle in that LFJ deserves as much credit as the goalscorers for crucial game changing tackles. KMac was immense. The whole team played as a team and we look strong at the moment.

Can't do Charlton but hope we go en masse and put in a performance.

All is good in the red and white camp.

Ps. I like the 'city is ours' banner and hope we can unfurl it at the sty

Very important business meeting in the Rose of Denmark ;)

Bartman - yes, you're right. Willo was excellent. He is a cut above at this level. Him and Lowton linked well today and everything came down that side. If Williamson stays fit and puts the effort in, he could be crucial in our promotion campaign. Took his goal really well again today.

Dingle Dog - shame you didn't come over. Always happy to meet Blades and put names to faces, with fellow s24u members. Happy to meet for a beer some time before one of the games if you fancy it.

Was that crackpot United-ite tieing Rob Staton up in knots again with footballing metaphors?? ;) The Blades were like France. Was that Platini and Giresse in 82 or Zidane, Blanc and crew in 98. I'd probably say the latter :D

I'll be at Charlton next week. Was thinking of going for beers in London Bridge (the George) but will try and pop in the Rose of Denmark. Will edof be in the Rose ... after the match, whilst the macthday traffic clears. Linz/Foxy - are you staying on? If anyone else fancies a beer then PM me or feel free to come to the George. I'll be in there from 12pm-ish.

Come on Olle, you don't want folk to think you're an attention seeker do you? :D
