Difference being he's smart with money.. and very little else..

Complete opposite to me

Does anyone else remember when the news was breaking that Brian Laws was getting the boot from The Sty? I was driving through Sheffield on my way to the M1, to drive north, it was a Sunday, and Radio Sheffield suddenly went to an "Emergency Program" to cover the live story, an hour later it was still on, talk about bias!

It's the Carloss interviews that piss me off, sends me to sleep and bores me rigid, oh, and ALL the pig callers.
Tbh it isn't FH fault that it's only pigs that call it's ours. All fans only ring when things are going wrong , fans are thickle as soon as things go good they have nothing to complain about so they don't see the need to phone in , if we were bottom of league guaranteed the whole show would be blades .

I am sure they did two phone ins when Megson got sacked.

One evening phone in and then Toby Foster did a phone in the following day.

A lot of time seemed to be dedicated to the sacking of that ginger twat on RS.

No the show would be full of pigs taking the piss.

No it would be full of us . Last season when we had Adkins we were always on , now we are doing good there's nowt to complain about so no one can be arsed to call up and praise the team apart from one or two

Totally agree. I think the show is usually dominated by who is doing badly at the time because when fans are unhappy they're more likely to moan and ring up then when things are well because that's just human nature. We've probably all experienced similar things at work from bosses! You only get feedback when something is wrong, or is that just me!

Radio Sheffield don't stop callers of one club calling and quite frankly its extremely small minded to blame them for being biased to Wednesday on the basis of them having more callers of late because they'e playing crap.

I'm sure we debated the Radio Sheffield bias only a few weeks ago and again not long before that!? If we keep moaning about this it just makes us look like we have chips on our shoulders?

Why are we so bothered if Rob Staton is a pig fan? We know also that Paul Walker is a Blade and so were other presenters down the years so is Ronnie Robinson, not that he does Football Heaven. Radio Sheffield are also based on Shoreham Street which I know doesn't mean a bias to us but it does mean they are closer to United geographically then the Pigs.

They split their coverage generally between United and Wednesday with the "smaller" local clubs getting the remaining coverage on medium wave. I recall having managers specials for United as well as Wednesday when we sacked someone in pre-season and appointed a new manager etc when there is not normally Football Heaven. That's my views and if anyone can prove a genuine bias I'd be interested to hear on what basis.

Exactly we weren't moaning about bias commentary when PW said "my voice has gone I don't care"

Fair comment but I also remember him talking to a succession of Blades callers like dirt over Blackwell. Think he had to apologise over one call.

That's when he thought it was the Paul Walker Show.

Good commentator, not the best host of FH.

Nice Freddie "Parrot-Face" Davies work there.

Fair enough, with him being a Blade he probably had strong views on it himself. But the hosts should do exactly that host the views of the callers. Personally I never listen to it anymore as it deems the same old themes over and over again. Maybe Blades should start phoning in to complain about the lack of losses we have had. :)

Both PW and Seth got to the point when they were doing stuff for MoD when they did seem to thing they were a bit big for Radio Sheff.

Unfortunately the problem is self-perpetuating – Blades perceive bias so don't call, so the same small number of Blades that call get regular air time (a good number of whom are idiots, meaning Radio Sheffield is accused of making us look bad due to their apparent bias) or fans of other clubs get more time, so Blades don't call. And so on.

I listened to the last twenty minutes this evening for the first time in a while and the Unitedite they had on as the final caller (Lee I think) was excellent – unfortunately the show will only get better if more people like him call it.
No, it's more simple than that. People who call phone-ins tend to be sad attention seeking twats and Wednesday have a lot more of those than we do.

It's not really about airtime for me but instancess like having phone-ins on Saudi Arabian human rights issues because our prince is a minor member of the royal family.

Also the whole Ched Evans saga very negative coverage matched only by the Star.

There's no doubt the oinkers take FH more seriously than we do. Porktalk runs an annual FH thread and this season's is up to more than 100 pages, whereas on here, FH rarely gets a mention.

Interestingly, the most recent posts are about Jonathan Buchan having an anti-W*dnesday agenda. Can't say I've noticed, I think all the main presenters do a decent job and I wouldn't accuse any of them of bias, although I know others on here don't share that view.....

Ey up Rob, it's Crab from Sheffield. I'd like to moan about not having anything to moan about. Simon Moore is no Lee Baxter, and whats all this Billy Sharp scoring goals, I used to love having Laurent Ten Heuvel as my whipping boy. And what abaat that Paul Woolhouse? Him and Hinchcliffe should come back, and they can bring Sam, Samantha, whatever the bloody hell she calls herself. Then I can get back to having a reight good moooan.

As an "outsider" now of W Yorks, I would say that Jonathan Buchan is the best one they have, you can tell he's not got any affinity with any teams in the region, but he's knowlegeable and personable. Andy Giddings is ok, a bit dull and Rob Staton does sound very much like he has grunter tendencies.
As someone who only listens on the way back from games, I find FH enjoyable in short bursts, gives you a sense of "home" - though I can still pick R. Sheffield up at our house there's no way I'd listen during the week and I can't really believe people do!

Not even to listen to live commentary on away games?

The main problem with letting actual members of the general public ring up is that most rational people don't feel the need to regularly phone in. This means that the remainder of society - i.e. the fuckwits - are all that remains. Regardless of team suported the mjority of callers are several pennies short of a shilling, to put it mildly.
It used to be entertaining, many moons ago, but now on the odd occasions I do actual listen it's almost entirely dominated by idiots from all the local clubs.

It's their 15 minutes of fame, for the ones too thick to get on Jeremy Kyle by the sounds of some of them.

The Pitsmoor armed robber has claimed to have a ST at the Sty but regularly calls to complain about the ticket prices he has to pay for home games. Know worra mean yeh.

That's not actually the football heaven team but of course it is Radio Sheffield. I remember listening to that and it didn't bother me but I understood some Unitedites thought it was below the belt.

I replied to somebody tongue in cheek..

You didn't!!!

I have a sense of humour

Do you!!?

And i was being helpful in my first reply to you,and you got smart.

Like i say practice what you preach sunshine.

Who told you about the sense of humour..........the mirror.

You have a mirror dont you.

Excellent Sean, you gave him his proper title and I know exactly what you mean :-)

He'd get my vote as the saddest case on there, although Brian the Blade's a contender, as is his namesake Miller.

And if Kevin the Blade's reading this, please try and construct a full sentence before you start to say it, so that you don't, errrrrrrrrr, need to, ummm, give yourself thinking, errrrummm, time whilst speaking. Thank you :-)
