Ok, point taken but I am not the latter. To be honest I would think it’s a bit mental but to be honest I think it is for me persevering with all this.

I don’t expect us to spend anything like £30m and tbh I wouldn’t be too against it. Securing the future of the football club is more important.
We need to renew the main players whose contracts are expiring and make a few signings with a few to the future.
Make a few loan signings and explore foreign markets like we did with Anel.

i think if were going with the squad that got us up plus a few loans were half planning for relegation in 2024 and although it seems negative quite a few clubs have done similar and been stronger financially doing this to realistically have a chance of staying in the premier league next season we need a minimum of 6/7 players signing that can go straight in to the starting eleven

We spent 120m last time we went up and it ended up getting us a very strong Championship side which has just won promotion back to the PL.

I'd rather spend wisely, instead of "splashing" millions on punts.

Forest - hand kind of forced by the number of loans that had in 21/22, sure they went overboard in numbers but I'm not going to criticise them for taking a shot
Leicester - not too far removed from being on Champions League level money
Everton - have been in the top flight since forever so can afford to spend a "fortune", have also recently sold two strikers for a combined nine figure sum

One of these is clearly not like the others, but saying that they all "spent a fortune" is fucking irrelevant if most of them have been gifted a "fortune" to spend

This is true, but there seemed to me to be an underlying implication in your post that they spent unsustainable money and still fucked it up. Here's the question though - who hasn't been spending a shitload of money in the PL?

No, my main point is to all these people that keep on banging on about us spending bucket loads of money, like it guarantees success.

If we can find 5 Anels (based on 4m each) we'll be in a much better position than if we spend the value of 5 Brewsters.

I hope Brewster does come good next season for what its worth, its not a dig at him, but at the amount we paid for him, obviously he can't control that.

Spending money in itself doesn't guarantee anything, however spending money wisely should give you more of a chance of staying up.

The one thing that is guaranteed is that if a team went up and didn't significantly adjust their wage structure then it won't be long until they're back where they started.
