Would you agree that things started going down for the Blades when Jonny Rockcliff's cat kicked the bucket?

Why not take your blackberry [or whatever they call them] and read the question off there thus saving the planet as well as the club?

I agree in principle Pinchy but if investment levels in the team will be the same as this season or worse then I feel Blackie is the man for us. He's proven over two seasons he can keep us stable.

Trouble is keeping us stable will not sell season tickets. It's a tough call and I'm glad I'm not in charge.

Yep, sorry lads.

Normally we do allow threads to go off-topic but we're going to have to be strict with this one.

All not-entirely serious comments and discussion please keep in here.

The other thread is for questions only.

Did the person at SUFC say how the questions would be picked and what format the event would take?

For example, I assume they will take random questions from the floor and then have a few questions from other sources - for example this forum?

That was how it was run last time and that was how it was intimated that it would run this time round too but they are still to confirm a few details so I can't say too much.

Last time, Seth Bennett had a sheet of questions and invited comments from the floor.

The difference this time is the timing as each session will only last an hour... so the tighter your questions are (less room for wriggle you could say), the better.

Are SUFC picking the questions from here or is Seth Bennett? Either way, I aint too enthused about the prospect.

No confirmation of who is chairing the events this time round... that is one of the details yet to be sorted.

All the questions we gather will be passed on to the club, so that even if they aren't raised in public, they will still be there for the club to read if they so wish.

What is it you aren't enthused about? Is it certain questions being ignored?

Pretty much that yes - not 'ignored' as such but they will (Radio Sheffield or Trevor), I believe, cherry-pick the questions. Only natural - I'd do the same. There will be plenty for them to go at by the looks of it and I'm hopeful that the session will be more useful than I thought having read your/Linz's opening post. I think we need to hear alot more than just the usual rubbish about recessions and injury problems and just maybe they have got the mesage that thousands of loyal Blades are incredibly fed up.

I think it is excellent that the club has got in touch with you and made the other offers on top of the forum but some of the questions posed are alot easier to answer than others in my opinion.

If you have any specific questions you think might be "dodged" as such (obviously, be sensible in this and don't pick something that they simply cannot disclose/talk about) and I'll see if we can do anything to ensure it is specifically included.

Fair comments Mic... but like you said, hopefully they're not just paying lip service to this apparent outreaching.

One thing we have also been asked to do is provide feedback on the Friday session so that further clarification can be sought on Saturday morning if there are some things that are still uncertain or fresh concerns have been raised following Friday night. Obviously both the club and ourselves will be working hard to get the coverage of Friday night out there so that this can take place.

Applications for tickets for Saturday morning are still open so if you wanna come down and ask a question in person, so it can't be dodged, email [email protected]

Please tell me the new interaction from the top doesn't mean that Kev McC is going to suddenly start appearing on here, call everybody dude, arguing the toss with bad spelling and eat his bodyweight in fried chicken as he does it?

Nope, I don't think so.

I think the reason we've been asked to do it is because people at the club are willing to recognise that perhaps there are people more used to interacting with fans online than they are.

I don't know if it's a conscious decision to have a laissez-faire approach to us independent fan sites so as not to be seen to be interfering. Or rather, and I feel that this is the most likely, they haven't got a bloody clue where to start so it's much easier to have us do it seeing as we've already got the established memberbase.

In order to get everyone's opinions though, I have been in touch with the Crossed Blades and Blades Bees to ask if their members have any questions. And it was mentioned that individuals from Bladesmad have been contacted too.

Apparently there are individuals within the club who were very complimentary about the transcript so it turns out those hours weren't wasted :)

Yep, well done Foxy.

Nah, I think I'm good at it.:p

You say that you cannot turn down bids when Premiership clubs come asking, because the players heads are inevitably turned. What lessons can you learn from a financially (supposedly) far weaker Wednesday, who managed to keep their best player (Tudgay) at the same time we sold ours (Walker / Naughton).

I think this time last year we would all have taken Tugay if offered.

Not moving on and being stuck in an under performing team seems to have effected Tugay's performances?

Perhaps it's best sometimes to take the money and run?

Sometimes it will prove better to sell, others not. But that's not really the point. We were told it was impossible to refuse the advances of premiership clubs. Wednesday managed to at exactly the time we "failed" to.

UTB

I agree but maybe the managements input/opinion about keeping a player who may then under perform will form part of the evaluation as to whether you can afford to refuse the advance made or not?

It's not all about money.
