Questions for Adkins

I'd also ask which of our better players will be sold in a weeks time will it be Done who I believe was earmarked to be sold before the season started until he broke his collar bone (hence the quick sale of Murphy who Adkins apparently wanted to keep) or will it be Che Adams or even Brayford, lets face it we have very little else of any value to sell.

1. David Edgar.
2. He inherited Collins, McEveley, Basham, John Brayford (who albeit was injured) and your hero Terry Kennedy. He said at the start of the season everyone was having a fresh start.
3. After inheriting a squad of 43 players, it would always take time to fashion a decent side out of what was already in situ.

It's not only about assists, it's about being an outlet, getting the team up the pitch, getting the opposition on the back foot, creating attacking situations and creating room for others by being double marked.

A player who can do that should at least be brought on from the bench on a regular basis, especially for us.

The creative outlet that is JCR is fast and direct, however when he breaks down the flank one of two things uSally happen, possession is usually lost as he gets shepherded down a blind alley, or he tries to attempt a cross which usually doesn't prove effective as his crossing ability is awful for a winger.

1. It is generally acknowledged that you are the worst manager the world has ever seen. Why don't you do the honourable thing and resign, nominating Barney as your successor, as he's the only one who sees the problems and has the ability to sort them out?

There is no need for a second or third question, that covers everything.
 
Why can't you afford a frame for your glasses?

Problem is, the missus spent the first day in a Spanish hospital! :eek:
(Nowt to do with my over-exuberance mind)
We decided to brave the pool. I got straight back out cos it was freeeeezing.:confused:
Mrs Greasy stayed in for 10 mins and ended up with hyperthermia (seriously!)
She lost her memory, didn't know where she was, how she got here and had no recall of the previous few days.
She's fine now, but it was a bit scary to say the least.
So, the holiday starts now, though I suspect the 'activities' may be on hold for a little while yet :(
Ah well, at least it's not as cold as back home. :D

That sounds like a rough start to your holiday, hope things improve for you.
 
To be fair to Adkins he wasn't really taking over a losing team. They finished in the play offs for feck sake. I know we were miles behind Bristol City but as far as he was corned the team was half decent.
He didn't want to throw the baby out with the bath water and make change for the sake of it. If we'd have finish in the bottom half maybe he'd have done more business in the summer.
But I do think should know all the players he wants out by now.

Well Greasy, that is certainly a dandy start to your hols! Firstly I am pleased your missus is well and over the worst and on the mend.

However....... it would be remiss of me to let this pass without having a dig at her expense.......

Two observations....
1. On the bottle I am sure it says - after taking Rohypnol avoid extreme changes of temperature.
2. And this is the biggy! It was the perfect opportunity to only answer in Spanish, deny knowing her, hide her wedding ring and change the address on her passport.
Schoolboy error Greasy, schoolboy! Enjoy the rest of your hols! :)

Nigel Clough was fully aware of the holes that needed plugging. It seems like Nigel Adkins was greeted with an empty office and a new laptop with no emails in his inbox. I'd have expected there to be a very fucking clear document on the desk. To me, it pulls into question the maturity of the board. When it comes to authority, they sound like a walkover right up until it comes to pulling the trigger.

I've just spat a half-chewed anchovy-stuffed olive towards the killer-pool which registered the interest of my beloved.
She insisted I read the comment to her which sadly landed me in a little bother.
Still, if her mood degenerates further, I might just pop her back in for a few minutes and pretend it never happened!!

He also put one on a plate for Sammon to miss against Blackpool. Not his fault Sammon missed.


DIdn’t he also get an assist or two in that 5-1 drubbing of Notts County in the JPT on the day of the magnificent piece of skill?

Such as who? I think most neutral’s would say Collins fits into that category. He’s about as bog standard 3rd division CB as they come. He wins the vast majority of his headers and makes basic clearances. He chips in with the odd goal from set pieces. He’s not good at playing out from the back and struggles against pacey, tricky opponents. We need better quality. We’ve had McCarthy, McGahey, Collins, Alcock, McEveley, Basham, Kennedy etc. all play there and none have nailed the position down. We need quality, not just another lump who’s no better than Collins to further bloat the squad. We need someone who has more to their game. Like Maguire, Jagielka, Kilgallon, Holdworth etc. all did. Or an experienced centre half with a lot of know-how who can “old-man” opposing forwards out of games like Morgs, Ehiogu, McGrath, Short etc.

We tried to get Hammond at the end of August along with Burn after we had already signed Edgar. So that would be 2 CBs, 2 midfielders and 2 strikers if it had all gone according to plan.
