The 24minute extended version of the West Ham match. A great game for the our greatest team of the past 50 years, finishing 6th in Div 1/PL. My memory has long since blocked out Brown throwing the ball in his own net, but that also includes Woodys instant control of long distance passers, Cammack in his best ever performance or the hitting the bar 3 times.

I could play this goal from T C 24 hours a day and it still would not be enough. Currie and Woody combination untouched by ANY other team. Filled my heart with love, pride and joy when I saw 12 Blades fans shortly afterwards in Whitby all wearing the same T Shirt " TONY CURRIE WALKS ON WATER"

Wonderful memories, I count myself as very fortunate to have been there watching it.

What also came across was that with a crowd of "only" 25k the noise from the crowd was incredible & non-stop.

It was my 1st United match, stood towards the back of the front section, just behind the goal. Was quite young, so didn’t see much.

Agree the noise in the Kop always seemed really loud, on a totally different level to today. Standing did make a big difference, much more singing.
But I remember the roof on the Kop sloped down a bit and it wasn’t as high, so it kept the noise in much better.

Motson's commentary is so memorable:

"Currie was in the way...and Woodward kept it in and found Currie...Field and Cammack to the left...still Currie.....What about that! A quality goal by a quality player! 3-2 to Sheffield United and Currie the scorer. His second of the match and they don't come any better. He sized up the situation, he looked left and right, he went on, found the space for the shot and placed it so sweetly past Day who could do nothing about it. "
