Hope he enjoys his season in the Prem and gets a few games ,nailed on for relegation but a good bit of cash in back pocket then look for new club next year , not really a great football move for him “

That's as Wendy-like as they come! Deluding themselves into thinking that selling their best player is absolutely in their best interests.

Did anyone hear Ian Holloway on talk sport this morning saying Morrison is the best player he has ever coached and wishing him all the best at Sheffield United ?

Of course there gutted they have lost there best player, how many times have we been through this? but what i will say is he's clearly a quality championship player but in the premier league unless he finds an extra 20% he's not going to be anything other than average. we need to be signing players who have been in the prem before and excelled.

I'll be sure to pass on your advice to Man Utd and Spurs who have just signed championship players. Spurs (champions league finalists) have actually had several players from the championship recently, and even one from league 1.
It's not where you came from that matters, it's where you are going!

Interesting, if you look at Freeman in comparison to Grealish, it's very similar, but everyone seems to think he'll be a star. Could that be anything to with one playing for Villa and one playing for Sheffield United?

We don't have the money for "excelled in the Premier League" players, neither do the majority of teams in the PL, which is why most just get players from abroad.

Excelled in the PL costs £40m +

Mo Salah who'd been "a bit meh" in the PL cost £36m

Dom Solanke who has been shit in the PL cost £18m

Those players you want are currently costing 30 million plus.
Also they would demand probably 100K a week and will refuse relegation clauses, so if we are relegated we must still pay them 100K a week.
Doing as you have suggesting is a huge gamble that could force the club into admin and eventual collapse.
Also if we did get relegated then those players who have excelled in the PL won’t be motivated and won’t be suited to the Championship.

We had a similar situation regards being unable to compete financially when we went up from league 1 to the Championship.
Wilder deliberately targeted the better players from league 1 and league 2, those with hunger and potential to improve.
This policy worked the first season as we finished top half, then Wilder realised in the 2nd season that in order to push to the next level he needed to bring in established Championship players (like Norwood, McGoldrick, Egan).

It looks as though he’s using the exact same policy this Summer, the policy that was previously successful.
Unlike Fulham he’s giving all his current players a chance to play in the PL and he’s bringing in the best Championship players with hunger.
Suspect if we stay up (which I expect), then he’ll go for established PL quality players in our 2nd season.

Don't say that to a Wednesday fan as it simply won't be understood. You have to buy aging players on their way down to succeed like they have.

Sorry, for all you know, Freeman might turn out to be one of the best midfielders in the Premier league. You are blinded by where players are from, and how much they cost. Luckily, we have one of the best managers in the game, who knows far more about these things than you or me. Let him do his job.

"we need to be signing players who have been in the prem before and excelled." Why?

Int football strange?
Say QPR and I still think of billionaire owners, us getting panned 3-0 at home and Blackwell getting sacked off the back of it.

I mostly think of JCR's one good game
