'Pundits'

It's startling to me how many pundits are around, who are unequivocally shite at being one.

Typically now-retired players, who neglect to do any research into the topics they are expected to speak on.

In particular, it continues to baffle me how Sky Sports News frequently have Jamie O'Hara cover matches on Sundays. The man knows alarmingly little, for someone who played in the Premier League. He consistently fails to provide any sort of nuance about the game he is watching. It's instead usually just "X player is bad", or "Y team have been dreadful", with no attempt made to expand on these statements to establish why.

Paul Merson is funny in that he can't pronounce a name with more than 2 syllables in it, but at least he's able to articulate what is going on on the pitch.
He doesn't seem to struggle with horses names with more than 2 syllables, methinks.

Eni Aluko is smart. She has a law degree and everything. So it's really weird that she consistently says incredibly stupid things. Maybe it's some sort of elaborate performance art.

Is he? He can barely string a coherent sentence together. I'm convinced he is only kept on as a Sky pundit out of sympathy - it's certainly not for his knowledgeable insight!
Tim Sherwood can get in the bin an' all - arrogant tosser who is nowhere near as clever as he thinks he is.
Jobi McAnuff & Courtney Sweetman-Kirk are currently the best pundits on Sky.
