For all the cracking pundits in the efl, bt sports team of Lineker, Ferdinand and Owen are terrible

I quite like Ferdinand, he's enthusiastic. Owen is awful, there's never been a duller man on TV, Hoddle is decent, and I'm a bit disappointed with Crouch, I thought he'd have more fun with it. Just a bit boring.

Lineker is only doing Champions League for the cheque, doesn't give a toss haha

Hoddle is fucking awful. He's the new Andy Townsend, always pluralising things that are singular - "Your Manchester Uniteds and your Arsenals of this world" and "he's go to go towards the goals" which would of course mean the player standing on the centre spot if he takes Hoddle literally.

"That would have been a fantastic goal if it had gone in." Yes Glenn, but it hurtled high into the stand and nearly decapitated the programme seller who was at the end of row Z.

I've no clue what they're talking about at half time, I don't listen to the buggers.

I like Hoddle but I gave you a like as your post made me laugh.

think most 'pundits' are bloody awful with mr Toad aka Garth Crooks leading the line - just all mainly boring , predictable rubbish mainly !

for me Colin murray is the stand out and he is a presenter and not just a 'pundit'

I still watch EFL on quest now on find him so knowledgable and interested in all teams- he must spend a good amount of time researching and actually watching teams play- a rarity for most 'pundits

Can't be doing with most of them, if I'm watching MOTD, I have to do it on catch up so I can fast forward through all the chat. If they haven't worked in some sort of management or coaching role, they lack a bit of credibility in my eyes because half the stuff they point out, any of us could have spotted ourselves.

I enjoyed Chris Kamara back in the early 2000's on co-commentary duties compared to the caricature of himself that he's become on Soccer Saturday.

It’s a tight competition between Michael Owen and Owen Hargreaves.

I just watch the football. I don’t watch the build up and I don’t watch the post match. It’s boring as fuck. Sometimes I don’t even bother with the commentary and just put music on. I can listen to sports radio all day but TV just doesn’t do ‘talking about football’ very well.

Our own eyes are by far the best pundits.

I'd love for Sky to get Mourinho in front of the interactive board thing and do an hour's programme giving some proper insight compared to the rest who all state the bleeding obvious. As for the bloody press conferences and post match player interviews, they might as well dub a recorded message over the top of it because they all trot out the same clichéd tripe as each other. Football is just really lacking characters and has done for a while and it seems like the random collection of people that they get to talk about games on TV have just been drawn out of some kind of bingo machine with names of retired players and managers and seeing which ones they get!

If you’re at the match. I’ve always found that it’s harder to follow on TV because you’re being forced to watch what the director wants you to watch, you don’t always see the bigger picture - literally. So what I want from the ‘commentator’s mate’ pundit is for them to point out the things I can’t see; the run from deep that drags defenders out of position, the failure of a midfielder to track a run, that kind of thing.
I don’t want ‘that’s a lovely strike, he took that really well’ because, as you say, I can see that myself.

Man of the match on TV is nearly always the obvious choice, i.e a goalscorer or a keeper who made some Hollywood saves.

When you are watching a live game you see all the off ball work and can appreciate how players (like Fleck, Enda, George, Billy etc) work so hard.

Having said that, I was never good enough to see the 'unseen work' of a certain D Hammond Esq. Maybe room for improvement on my part?

Badger old Kammy is still great on his commentary on GSS, he was doing a game as while ago and Jeff Stelling says lets talk to Kammy about the goal; Kammy says there's been a goal I didn't see it.

Is Alex Scott the very attractive "dark/black" lady if so she is excellent looking, and seems to talk sense.

I have to admit when I watch footy on TV I have volume so I cannot hear it, cannot cope with the "experts", Jamie bloody Carragher, Michael Owen, Crooks, Shearer. Bring back John Helm, Brian Moore, John Motson Gerald Sindstat.

It’s the biggest room in your house. (And if you live in Crosspool I’m guessing it’s a very big room).

Yeah, his "expert analysis/co commentary" is slightly comical, but I do enjoy his punditry, maybe it's because he reminds me of the 90's and sketch comedy like The Fast Show.

1930s semi mate.

Probably worth a fraction of your Chelsea Village penthouse, (although I notice you describe it as 'Sheperds Bush' so as not to alienate the chaps on here).

It seems that some of the better pundits (and managers) are either defenders i.e. Gary Neville, Liam Rosenior, seeing the game unfold in front of them or played at a slightly lower level (Keith Andrews) and as such have had to think about and analyse the game a lot more than blokes like Shearer or Owen for example who were up front, banged the goals in and didn't have to worry about anything else. When Chris Wilder retires from the England job after winning the 2030 World Cup, he'd be a bloody good pundit I reckon!

I’ve always thought the players that have to work on their game rather than being naturally talented tend to understand the game better.

"Dark" ? Mate it's the 21st century. Would you refer to Gabby Logan as the Light/white lady? Rhetorical question but I'm sure you take my point😉

Ive been listening to Talksport for years and I’ve never heard Alan Brazil ever say anything positive about us. In fact when ever anybody says anything positive he often changes the subject as though he hates us.

Think it’s because Brazil was playing his football in the late 70’s and early 80’s so won’t have ever played against us. So he has no memories or thoughts about Sheff Utd. He also seems to be stuck in his ways and only ever watches the big 6 matches live.

I reckon he’s never watched a whole game of ours whilst Wilder has been manager.

He still looks like he is going to burst any minute

Tbh that fat fucking heart vessel of a man knows jack shit about football and offers nothing other than cliches and shit gammon jokes on the odd morning he can be arsed to turn up for work

He used to absolutely love Borbokis when he played for us. Remember him being enthused by him.

Not being funny but Brazil probably doesn't see anything other than through a haze of alcohol toxicity. Bloke needs help
