Walker and Maguire in the full England team. Maguire looks like he can hold a place there for a long time to come.

DCL looking likely for an England squad call.

Brooksy making his full international debut in Paris for Wales.

Top stuff.

Meanwhile, at the S6 Academy we have a glimpse of their most recent success ...

Sorry Ken. England are crap so it counts for nothing. On the other hand Scotland N Ireland Wales and Rep of Ireland are world beaters. I look forward to seeing them at the World Cup In 2017.

Can believe you are so negative about the national team, Boo.

Ashamed for you. ;)

I remember when they first opened the new academy and how both McCabe and Warnock were spouting off about producing a first XI with players supplied from it. I'd suggest if they'd have kept all the good ones that made it to the first team, we'd have had a first XI made of academy lads, we wouldn't have had 6 years in the lower leagues and we'd have had more than 1 season in the Prem.

Had to laugh at the poster on Owlstalk who was saying our management at youth level is poor because we lost to their under 50s.

It's what happens when you're struggling to find anything worth hanging onto. Maybe the same poster missed their 'experienced' player being nut-megged by one of our 19-year-olds? I wonder what the same poster thought of their humiliation when the Blades put them to the sword?

There's a real conundrum here which reflects youth development at Premier League level. Many of our youngsters got a chance precisely because we weren't a great team. If we were a better team, would they have had as many games? Would they have developed into the players they are now?

Maguire is a brilliant example of how a young player can learn his trade and rise up through the leagues given the opportunity. Lowton too. Loftus-Cheek is about the same age as Harry, but has hardly played a game. What might he be now if hadn't rotted on Chelsea's bench?

I hate the idea of Premiership B teams playing in the lower leagues, but you have to wonder if that's what enables Spanish lads to develop while ours stagnate. Premier League teams are averse to farming out their star kids into the physical hurly burly of the FL. In Spain, the game is less intense and B teams can manage the kids better.

Not sure what the answer is, but I know B teams can go bollox. :)

England are crap. Many of the current inclusions in the squad are the indicative of how much English football has deteriorated: Lingard, Loftus-Cheek, Livermore.

Harry isn't one of those. His dedication to honing his craft has been clear since day one, he stuck around in L1, he stuck it out at Hull and then became a key player for Leicester. He thoroughly deserves to be there.

Shhh don’t let Boo hear you saying this ,
He’ll view it as treason rather than an apt description of a not very good team

Straw clutching
After our tin pot , pub team , with players nobody had heard of and wouldn’t grace there bench nar mind there team ,
After being shown up on national television by said team ,
After the slaying of both Boxing Day and our new day Bouncing day massacre,
Being 4 games behind us atm
They have to cling onto something
Well at least their Jerseys have arrived in time for their 150th anniversary
Anybody for a slice of cake
Wankers

Well after viewing The Daily Pork I can answer those questions for you based on some of the bollox that got spouted:
4-0 is a massacre but 4-2 is just a win, in which they gifted us 2.5 goals so really they won 2 - 1.5
The player who took the megging is good enough to get in an England squad if no premier league players were allowed in it.
When I'm feeling a bit down I go and peruse The Daily Pork just to cheer myself up.

I've seen those comments too. It's simply a reason to make sense of their inadequacy. Whatever the scoreline, we were far, far better, and they've had 6 seasons in a so-called superior division, yet we still revealed how poor they are.
