What sort of professional manager is so candid in a post-game interview if they realy are going?

I fear losing Wilder as much as many others, but this is not the language of someone who is on his way out.

These are the words of one who wants to succeed. Over to the board.

Keep the faith.

Wilder remains.

UTB

I was sozzled when I wrote this. Hence the unwarranted optimistic tone of the OP.

I actually think we're fucked.

This revival dies with Wilder.

I believed in the ethos he instilled in this club, but the players couldn't carry it to a satisfactory conclusion.

He has to do his magic again, if he's even inclined to do so.

Otherwise, we need to prepare for a decline.

Bang on the money here, the current owners do not have the cash to sustain a club if this size, we wouldn’t be in this division if it wasn’t for Wilder, I can’t ever remember SUFC having a board with any sort of ambition, other than the year we dropped from the prem 10 years ago. (For 1 season)

The owners need to give Chris at least some sort of plan to take the club forward, is it really that difficult, what ever is agreed is placed into the final settlement who ever comes out as the owner.

A better solution would be if someone new come in and, I feel we are in desparate need of a clean sweep, with Wilder at the helm with brand new ownership.

Just because Wilder was left with a load of crap doesn't give him the right to do the same with his successor. If you look at the following list are you seriously telling me any of them are going to be of use next season:

Ched, Hussey, Lavery, Wilson, Carruthers, Hansen, Henegan,

You can then add to these Holmes and Leonard who have been sidelined (by Wilder). And then add again the replacements we need for Sharp, Clarke and Duffy. That's 12 players in total and there's some real shit amongst them.

I know for some criticising Wilder is a taboo subject but lets at least be honest amongst ourselves.

To be more positive about these players:

Ched - not been fully fit all season but he's been through a lot and CW likes his attitude
Hussey - a mistake who will depart, good luck to him
Lavery - injured early on and not had chance to recover before being loaned out - but then not a feature at his loan club
Wilson - will go back to whence he came - but was he ever seen as a permanent signing?
Carruthers - needs to think more before trying to beat the world whenever he gets the ball
Hansen - always a temporary signing, but did what was needed last season
Henegan - one for the future
Holmes and Leonard - need pre-season to settle in properly
Sharp - a good club captain but now past past his best - could still be a great asset to a lower league club
Clarke - you never feel confident he's going to score when he gets a chance
Duffy - getting past his prime but still a joy to watch (most of the time)

Was surprised how emotional CW was on the lap of appreciation. Wiped his eyes several times, was he thinking this could be his last game at the lane. Really hoping not
