Wasn't a great performance though, was it?

I remenber just beating port vale 2=1 with a late late goal from Deane
one promotion year
dont remember any one complaining what a narrow win it was then

what has changed so much people moan like fuck when we win

I actually jumped up when Billy scored after a good move, something I couldn't be arsed to do for a few games. The atmosphere has definitely improved.

Luckily the vast majority in here aren't Barney's.

But also, no one needs it ramming down their throat and told how to react when we edge a shit game of football in a shit season that keeps us in a shit position in a shit league.

My point entirely, I enjoy a victory and I'm disappointed when we lose. We'll do a fair amount of each this season so the constant moving from "Europe in 5 years" to "Conference in 2 years" is a bit tiresome. There are issues in the way the club is run and I think mosbolad seems to have missed this while he's been blindly cheering us on and being a "fan".

Journey back home was better then
Much better and pigs manager was only on three minutes. Very few pigs fans and they were moaning. Loads of Blades on 50:50 clappers and slashers. Leeds lost too. Pretty perfect day :)

Yup, that's me! More important things in my life than getting worked up over how The Blades are run. :)

Time has taught me that there are much more important (and less tedious) things to do with my time than blindly follow the blades around the country. Hence why it's easy to take a step back and not be such a "fan" as yourself.

Port vale were a good side then ( i would guess one of their best ever periods in history )
We were in a promotion race when no one expected us to be with the pressure that brings
It was late in the season and three points were a must
We won and people did complain ,never watched the united documentary ?
Our crowd was about 15000 that day
Mainly because we were a long ball team and many wouldnt attend to watch that style of play

Next ridiculous comparison please

Watched it yesterday Judge , and guess what fans moaning bout style of football back then as well .
It is the " fans " fault don't you know . ( ahem ) .
Sir Dave, say what ya want , but that team would smash this current team. Even without Gayle and vinnie .

Funny how once again no Baxter = 3 points= no goals conceded=no loss of shape=a TEAM performance. What a break the dope testers have given us .
If Baxter is marmite on here what are the odds he's marmite in the dressing room too?

I wonder, after the events of this week, how divisive his presence is round the club and how Adkins' insistence on persevering with has perhaps caused some players to question his judgement.

You could be right, this time a drugs test may have saved our season.

Half of them wouldn't last 90 minutes in the modern game. It would be like the Battle of BL every week. Did you see some of those challenges? Fucking hell! I'd forgotten how brutal it was.

Tbh, I miss it, seeing two big blokes smashing into each other repeatedly was as close as you could get to watching gladiatorial combat without going to heavyweight boxing. (Maybe RL too but who watches that in Sheffield and Union was just fat blokes wrestling in those days).

I guess with the number of serious injuries it couldn't continue, we were losing too many players from the game.

Funny BushBlade was thinking that myself , some hefty fucking challenges flying in .
I include the one from bellend road , where our hero at the sty crunched Tracey in the build up to the first goal.
Didn't Tracey go in goal for man city in a derby game and they got smashed 5-0 or something?

That rings a bell. Don't ask me though, my memory's gone. I think Vonk was part of a 6-0 before he joined us.

Yeah he did

Sorry to burst your bubble mosbolad , but I did hear the protest yesterday, or should I say protester (singular).
One lone dissenter behind me at the back of Gangway F on the Kop, shouted "sack the board", but absolutely nobody joined in.
Mind you, that was when it was still 0-0. I'm sure he joined in the slow tempo "Oh when the Blaaaaaades, go marching iiiiiiiiin" after Billy scored. ;)
Up the Blades!

I'm gutted i didn't hear that, i was at the back of E. He/She would have got a mouthful from me and the ones around me had we heard it

Definitely, with John Rudge as manager for about fifteen years, including several where they were in the league above the clayheads. They went up from Div 3 with us and Stoke went down to Div 3 the following season.

I've always had a soft spot for them, as opposed to their cross city rivals who have a similar sense of entitlement to the oinkers, despite having only ever won one trophy in their entire existence, which is longer than ours (League Cup 1972).

(League Cup 1972).

My first visit to Wembley was the 1972 League Cup final. I was cheering for Stoke. It was strange to go to the Victoria Ground the following week seeing them parade the Cup while I was cheering for the Blades as we were the visiting team (we drew 2-2)
