Might be a dubious point to make here, tin hat is ready. But since seeing Rammers flourish in such a short space of time at Arsenal (although granted he was doing better any way since the turn of the year).

It has made me wonder, with the amount of so-called prospects we have here who aren’t pulling up trees, is it actually the facilities/coaching staff/management letting the players down (in part)

I don’t want to take responsibility away from the players, it’s on their heads to perform, but i can’t help feel that other factors might be influencing our inability to get the players we have bought to fulfill their potential

Chris Wilder = brilliant man manager, excellent motivator, superb inventive tactician.

None of which qualifies him to manage a large war chest.

We blew a 9 figure sum on dogshit. Shit in, shit out.

Simple as that. 🤷‍♀️

We're a club which has historically been poor in terms of ownership but also usually has more resources than most of the other clubs outside of the top flight thanks to attendance/turnover.

The fact we've largely had relatively poor owners has meant that our managers have tended to be more pragmatic than fancy. It's no coincidence that our best spells over recent decades have been under Bassett, Warnock and Wilder. 3 down to Earth, blood and spit style of managers. Who specialise in man-management.

Our fancier managers (Spackman, Kendall, Robson) have all found that the club doesn't meet their needs in terms of having money to buy shiny players consistently.

We're also a club which is terrible at continuity. We basically have a manager, let them bring in loads of their own players and then sack them. Replace them with a different kind of manager who wants to bring in a whole new set of players and play in a different style. Therefore, many of the players we produce find themselves at the club under the wrong manager or at the wrong time.

We have invested in infrastructure but it's always on the cheap. When we have potentially world class players coming through we do not have a set-up to match them. We'd rather celebrate what we have than continually keep improving our infrastructure. Once a decade, someone will invest a bit and then the money runs out.

The fact we have crap training & youth facilities, stadium facilities and scouting network now is a damning indictment of the own, Board and former manager. All of whom put short-term success ahead of the long-term future of the club.
