Why is it everybody seems to think we should be going down this model ...when we cant fkin compete in this market as every top level club in Europe ( and most been there longer than we have ) has had this blueprint for the last 10 years and most fk it up right royally ....it’s just embarrassing when people just pluck youngsters names off google and related sites and say let’s buy him and make £30 mill when he makes it ....how often does that work .... maybe 1 in 25 ..and we know Wilder doesn’t trust youth ..so why the fk do people post random names of youngsters when it’s not the management and recruitment teams way and it’s not going that way at least for the next 12 months..maybe 24 months ...so just reel it in ..and let the guys in charge manage us short /
mid term ..and let’s establish ourselves as a prem club ..then look at the bigger picture in 18 months time ....

Must have imagined the signing of Sander Berge that was linked with many of Europes top clubs including the then European champions Liverpool and teams like Napoli Chelsea Manchester Utd etc.

Because younger players usually have more scope to improve, change roles and can be more flexible thus creating assets for the club.

Also age isn't equal to ability, you can get a youngster is a better player than someone who is older, not sure why you're so against younger players if they fit the skill set/have attributes Wilder and co are looking for.

The recruitment team will look for players who fit a profile and of course age will be a factor but not necessarily the deciding one.

Because they are in general within our wage structure which is more important than the transfer fee (see Sander Berge).

They will have at least a like for like resale value if not much more.

And they are least likely to suffer complications from Covid-19.

I really have to pull you up on Ramsdale. From your OP it's clear that like most of us, you trust CW and his team to make the right decisions. CW has already addressed this very point, saying that the fee for Ramsdale eventually helped us build a promotion side, so we could have bought him back for 30 million and it would still have been value for money.

If we brought Brooks back in for 40 million now, would you say that we"fked that right up" as well because we sold him for a quarter of that price? Again, that sale virtually sealed promotion for us, as it allowed us to bring in Egan, McG and (probably) enabled us to afford the wages for Madine & Hogan.

Those 2 sales helped us rake in well over 100 million last season alone.
