Good result today but it's going to be interesting to see who Wilder starts up front against Chezzy.
I would like to see chance conversion stats for Sharp vs Chapman....
Nice problem for a manager to have tho.
Happy days

He will probably go and manage QPR just to simplify thisngs :)

I personally think it's goals scored that matter not conversion stats, and Sharp has scored 5 goals in the last 3 league games. The only problem Wilder has is who he'll play alongside Billy, and as the OP says it's a great problem to have.

I think he'll stick with Scougle next Sunday but Chapman has certainly staked a claim and could be the answer to our 'which striker will chip in if Billy doesn't?' question if Done doesn't get off the mark.

Two goals for Scougall in last 1 1/2 games. Not a bad strike rate.

Scougall took a knock just before half time. He's been playing well but that could be a bit of a blessing as long as it's not serious.

Chapman today showed more individual flair and talent than any other attacking player has this season - and he even scored 3 and got a very good assist. He has to start at Chesterfield after that. They're in poor form, low on confidence and we need to go for the kill. We should play an attacker next to Sharp rather than a midfielder.
I've said all season we're lacking extra quality up top but he could be the one to provide it, it wouldn't surprise me either, I always thought he was likely to become a real influence as the season goes on.

It's not all positive regarding Chapman though, the hat trick will draw some attention to him and reduces our chances of keeping him beyond January. Scouts will have been watching him today. If he's not playing regularly by then I think Boro will recall him.

Brooks also showed flair and quality, he's quite unique in our squad in the way he plays, his technique and the sort of skill he uses. Clearly a talented player and I expect to see him get a fair bit of game time in the league.

Pretty sure Chapman is away unfortunately but Scougall will know he has to carry on his good form if he wants to be selected the game after

I don't understand how Brooks is in front of Reed at United but behind him at England level

Different positions.

Whiteman would be the comparison with Reed - he came on ahead of him today in his position yet Reed's involved with England and he isn't.

I think it's probably due to Reed being involved at first team level for longer.

Chapman can't play against Chezvegas, on international duty

Oh that's fucking fantastic. Every opening Chapman's had in our first team has coincided with international duty.

I suppose we'll have to beat Chesterfield 2-0 instead of 4-0.

And, as Edwards pointed out, brooks is left footed which is useful

Begs the question if Chapman is unavailable against Chedsterfield why the fuck give him 90 today rather than someone who WILL feature? Suggests it's Sharp and Done starting,as they have played together a good number of times.
Lavery was lively today but a bit sketchy too.

No selection crisis at all. Wilder picks a team that is demonstrably good at winning/not losing most weeks.
Also, given that last weeks victory over MK Plastic was a somewhat lacklustre affair due to the absence of Done, (A player who some inexplicably want to be replaced), I can see no reason not to include him if fit.

I can help, Roy. You've fallen into the trap of thinking that "England" have a fucking clue. Once you disabuse yourself of that notion, it all makes perfect sense.
I gave up on England and how they run it years ago.

You have to love our supporters. Things going really well with a 6-0 win the latest thing to smile about and people start talking about our apparent squad depth in terms of it being a selection "problem" :D

Not happy unless we have something to worry about :)

I don't think the call to 'replace' Done is completely unwarranted TD. I think he's having a decent season, and I love the effort he puts in. His problem is he's not particularly fast with the ball at his feet, his touch isn't great and has little physical presence. (All this can be compensated by him banging goals in, but recently he hasn't been too prolific.)

I think replacing him might be a little harsh, but at the same time I don't think he'll be pulling up any trees at championship level (which is obviously the intended destination).

I think Chapman's performance today shows that calls to replace Done are far from inexplicable.

I did say it was a nice problem. .. chill fella.

He'll be replaced by the end of January at the latest. Some of us expect more than two goals and tireless but often futile chasing around from one of our two strikers.

Scoogs now has twice as many goals from far fewer opportunities, and he's a midfielder. Done? He will be...

I believe it was Chapman and Reed given permission to join the squad late. Special flight organised for tomorrow.

If everyone is fit the front two should be Sharp and Scougall, regardless of Chapman or Done's availability. With those two available as well we have good options going forward, but Done will probably return from injury ahead of Lavery in the pecking order but behind Chapman and Scouggs now.

Chapmans still too much of a JCR for my liking . Brilliant one game and completely invisible the next 5 .

He's justifiably 3rd choice for Billys partner upfront behind Done and Scougal .

He's ahead of both Clark and Lavary though ...... but it is on injuries and fitness levels only .
