Having skimmed through this thread, I'd agree with many on here that improved training facilities are essential.
I recently watched an interview with Leicester's Vardy. Whilst at Fleetwood he was being scouted by several Prem clubs, but after visiting many Prem teams, JV said that it was Leicester's facilities, especially the training and fitness centre they possessed, that gave Leicester the advantage over other clubs. Somewhere on here there's a mention of Swansea's new training facilities, and to say it's impressive is an understatement. Assuming this is given the green light then we have an opportunity to make sure we have a 'future proofed' facility that existing players as well as new recruits will regard as essential to their ability to be as good as they can be.
I recall an earlier interview with Wilder where he mentioned that he, Knill, and the rest of his staff, were teachers. I think that because we'd been under the idea that this was a club going nowhere fast that many of us had lost sight of the fact that there's nothing wrong with having ambition. This is what Wilder has brought to the Blades, and you've only had to see our transfer record this season to appreciate what we've missed out on in the last few decades. It's also important to see things through a lens that isn't red in hue, realism rather than fantasy or overly ambitious aspirations is the way forward, it also avoids tears and poorly judged notions about who is/was a realistic target for this club. It won't take long to see that signing a fit and well player like Mousset was a steal, and he's a perfect example of the canny approach to who we should sign that Wilder employs. Up until now the Prince appears to be fully behind Wilder's approach to this club's development, and this is as fundamental to our ambitions and aspirations as anything. I'm being just a tad cautious, perhaps without basis, about the immediate future of this club. What's happened to us over the last few seasons is little short of miraculous, and whilst no one can provide cast iron assurances about this week, this month etc, how can anyone complain about the direction we're headed?
So yes, there's plenty to consider, whether we increase our capacity, a new Kop, vastly improved toilet facilities, and whatever else can help improve this ground for the supporters. So first things first, and if Chris Wilder considers that we need vastly improved training facilities as a beginning to what lies ahead then we should give our manager, our leader, our total support. UTMB!
